What is your favorite area to fly in?

Featured Replies

I keep on returning to places in the alps that I have visited in real life. In VR that is like taking an afternoon of vacation.

But overall I don't limit myself to just one region.

I have always at least two flying projects going on.

One, long term, is visiting all countries of the world. Currently I'm at "B" and "Bosnia and Herzegovina".  I do some research about he physical geography to find the best places to visit and then I usually start at the capital and go from there.

The other I'm currently flying is following the stages of the 2021 Tour de France with flightplans built in Little Navmap, following the route as close as feasible.

I think France is probably the most interesting country to fly in, at least in Europe. It is so diverse, both in physical geography, and climates, and is surprisingly sparsely populated because everybody seems to live in the agglomerations of Paris, Marseille and Lyon.

I just discovered France as well. Lol. It’s stunning and tremendously diverse. The world update makes it fantastic. Flying the Alps in the Arrow turbo has been tremendous fun. Just finished a flight from Albertville to Marseilles…glorious.

France does seem to be a very popular option

Southeast Asia, but it's lacking attention.

Anywhere in New Zealand 😄  Especially now NZA are churning out more airports.

The world, no kiddin’, this sim is the first to allow to roam the skies and enjoy great views. I fly everywhere. Don’t deprive yourself of new horizons, of new flying challenges, no reason to be stuck in a region except if you do some Air Hauler (or the likes) stuff.

If you really want to stay in a region you are not familiar with, the rendition of Greece (mainland and islands) and Japan have very attractive landscapes from above and some nice addons.

France is indeed quite nice as there are now a ton of small airfield addons all around (caveat : I am French thus biased 😉). A nice flight I did yesterday, from Cannes-Mandelieu LFMD to Nice LFMN over the Côte d’Azur and a view to the Alps then toward Corsica flying along the island Western coast to Propiano LFKO.
