Has performance degraded recently?

Not sure what happened but very frequently now when flying into places like busy KORD or even KRDU a few minutes ago it's become a stutterfest once again.  The only change I have made is in troubleshooting why I couldn't get Ghost Recon:  Wildlands to load properly, at UBISOFTS troubleshooting suggestion, ran this routine:  sfc /scannow, which did find corrupt files and replace them with cached copies successfully.  Now when I takeoff, which today was at KBOS, all was super smooth.  But by the time I was on final at KRDU it was just a stutterfest.  This same thing happened yesterday at KORD when I took off at CYOW w/ very modest settings to cope w/ that payware airport, but on final at KORD it was essentially unflyable.  It's been a long time since this has happened so checking to see if I'm alone on this or not.  Of note, as always, CPU and GPU loads via RTSS look dandy.

I wonder if it’s replaced the sus files with older versions? Would it be worth trying a windows update?

Which aircraft were you flying?

The DC-6 has a bug where it starts lagging until you click one of the checklists / first officer things on the tablet.

Good thought I can try an update, and hopefully that won't kill GR:Wildlands

Kind of wondering the same. Flew into Runway ILS 10 at KATL today from KMIA. flight was smooth with high fps for the most part until approach into KATL where i was literally getting 5fps on final. On top of that the runway was an uneven rollercoaster that caused a crash during the rollout.  Thats never ever happened before. Then again i dont recall coming in on runway 10 before either. Typical  Worse case scenario is usually 25fps flying into KATL. Was this a one off  anomaly ?

For me it's been the other way around. Since the last patch (of the DC-6), performance has been absolutely stellar. Done about 8hrs over two flights in the DC-6 and performance has never been better.

As a matter of fact. What I've been doing during those long cruise flights is editing photos in Capture One Pro at the same time (RAW files from a 45 mpix camera). Didn't even seem to affect performance (that might be down to the 3900x though).. Performance has been way above my expectations.

Super happy as getting the same visuals and performance from the competing platforms would be utterly impossible.

When you use vsync to 30Hz as soon as you are 29fps or less a stutterfest starts to ensue, so 25fps for me is hardly any better than 12fps they're both no longer smooth, fluid.

Dropping to 25 occasionally isnt an issue for me (im sure its going to get fixed or improved in su5 since its a cpu limited issue) but today was unworkable.. Was a first for me.. no joke .. 5 fps..
