Initial issues

Featured Replies

Hi

Trying to start with MSFS which is very different from FSX...

1. Is there a possibility to avoid those initial tips and music before the options appear?

2. I tried to load one aircraft but it doesn't take-off while powering the engine... I don't see the power brakes button. It seems that something is not working at all. Solutions?

3. I am trying to have live weather. Strange that in any place of the world there are no clouds, no rain, no sun, nothing...

Another question:

4. How do I know which is the last update? I know that I installed Nordic update...

MSFS itself is updated through MS Store. Nothing really to do here as these updates are pushed centrally.

for anything else you need to go to profile—> content manager to update what needs to be updated.

the music can be disabled through options menue

check options whether live weather is enabled and make sure you also select live weather before you start your flight

And questions 1 and 2?

1. No, although the devs are making an effort to tidy up the launch sequence.

2. You've probably got the hand brake on. Either assign a key press for hand brake, or look for the hand brake lever in the cockpit - it'll be there.

The situation is: it takes 5 minutes to open MSFS even in a high end machine. No possibility to avoid this? Checking for updates all the time...

This will speed thru the opening screens a little bit, but only saves about 15 seconds.

And this will tell you if the parking brake is on, click icon to set or unset. And where the elev, rud, and ailer trims are set (just click to set one back to 0). It will also tell you the sim rate (warp speed or slow motion, normal sim rate is 1). And a couple dozen other things, set as many or few as you like to display. Such as the bearing back to the desired flight plan track, or click the autopilot on/off. Configurable as to where it displays and text size, (doesn't have to be on the right hand side).

Windows control panel, devices and printers, Game Controller Settings, Properties, settings, reset to default, will set the control back to Windows neutral. Which may not help but maybe.

Sorry, I lost myself. I don't know what are you talking about... 😫

Well any flight controller can be reset to Windows Neutral from the Windows Control panel, if it gets out of center.
