July 21, 20214 yr Was there a very long, the longest, flight you recall having flown in X-Plane ? Was it "vlown" ( virtually flown ) using detailed navigation, maybe even ATC, weather, operations as a whole ? If possible, please describe it succinctly. Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
July 21, 20214 yr My record holder is Northern Germany to the Canaries in Zibo's 738 or ToLiss' A321 and back. Can't remember the distance, but flight time was around 5.5 hours per leg. As always, performed in real time with 124th ATC and X-Plane's real weather. Flight planning was done with LittleNavMap (route) and Windy. Payload was eyeballed ("How many people would likely go there?"). Can't remember what I did during the cruise phase, but it certainly involved cooking dinner and doing stuff on the laptop. I did EDDB - GMAD in Zibo's 738 on Sunday, which clocked in at 4:45 h or so. Again, real-time, real weather, SimpleATC. Managed to nearly clean my entire apartment between mid-climb and top of descent. 700 to 900 Nm is my usual flight distance though. Although there's the occasional short sound hang and stutter when an ortho tile gets loaded (which still yields an instinctive "Uh, oh..."), X-Plane has been really stable for a while now. Fingers crossed. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
July 21, 20214 yr Moderator When I was developing TrueEarth GB for Orbx, I flew the C172 all the way from EGLC up to Glasgow.... that was probably my limit :D
July 21, 20214 yr When testing an update to the plane I sell I flew from San Francisco to Honolulu. Most of it on LNAV direct routing, though. I did not use ATC, but I did follow SID and STAR (but direct in between).
August 2, 20214 yr I have done multiple Trans-Pacific or Euro-Asia flight with FFA350 and iniA310 overnight(10hr+), using realword route or route from simbrefing, realweather with ASXP and 124thATC. Quite routine event for me on weekend night, sometimes with P3D, and sometimes with XP
