Raise Your Game - Asobo/MS

Featured Replies

So here we are rapidly approaching the first birthday of MSFS.

After finally getting my saved flight to load yesterday evening following the server issues, I discovered that the age old classic bug is still there. The autopilot was off, with all the flightplan data gone from the FMC along with all the altitude etc. data entered on the upper panel.

Come on, you can do better - this bug should have been tracked down and fixed right at the beginning. It makes doing a flight over several sessions or a long haul journey impossible if not pointless.

Sorry for rant, but there is so much potential in the game, just for it to be let down by an easily replicated bug that nerfs the basic functionality of long distance navigation.

<Insert many many other bugs and issues that should've been fixed long ago>

Asobo; doing things great and badly at the same time!

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

Thousands of freeware mods, superb work by WT, FbW, regular updates and bug fixes, a G 1000 NXi incoming, etc.

Asobo and MS: WHEN ARE YOU GUYS GONNA START STEPPING UP TO THE PLATE!!!!!!!!

Exactly Ricardo, so much is being done outside the core game to improve the experience but just a few items fixed could transform the experience and consign FSX et al permanently to the digital dustbin.

Certainly, until this obstacle to long flights which need to be played out over several sessions is nailed down, MSFS is great for sightseeing in hedge cutters or short commuter jet hops, but not for the sort of flights which would need DC10's, 767's etc.

I have just completed several long hauls 8 hours + in DC-6, completely IFR shooting approaches in each destinations. There are absolutely no obstacles at the moment to fly those ! SDK already   provide sufficient tools to build high fidelity airliners!. If you miss DC10 or 767 it's up to 3rd party developers to bring high fidelity products not Asobo. I'm going repost screenshot again. In instrument approach to BIKF down to the minimums

it's called priorities and everyone has a different list of what they believe  Asobo should fixed first. I think they are very much aware of the AP issue as they hired WorkingTitle for the purpose alone. In a few weeks, we will have the first G1000Nxi beta which will be the first step in the direction that everyone wants.

@sd_flyer

Please read or re-read my OP. I am not complaining about the scarcity of certsin types of aircraft, you total straw manned my point! That is, the FMC on aircraft so equipped will not hold the flight plan consistently when saving and subsequently reloading a flight. May be okay for one or two saves but usually not thereafter. That leaves you with the aircraft wallowing around at altitude, autopilot off the altitude setting blanked and no nav data in the FMC. This has been a core bug of MSFS since the start. I'm assuming the DC6 doesn't have a FMC, but the default A320/747 and the FBW A320 most certainly do and rely on it as the primary navigation tool.

You are not wrong about this issue. Don't get me started on the stupid flyback bug and the USR WPT.  We've all experience these issue. Asobo took maybe too long to take action but they did by hiring WorkingTitle. These guys are the expert the sim needs.

Well that is good news at least. Let's hope the WT guys can come up with the solution. In the meantime I shall continue to enjoy flying but shorter hops!
