Let's give Update 5 a fair assessment!

Completely agree with Matt. The color grading is spot on right now. I didnt try the fix yet but I really hope they didnt revert the changes. The colors of sim pre SU5 were way too saturated. Saturated colors do look pleasing to eye but they often dont represent reality.

they will improve the visuals on pc tho for the fast machines they have said that, but who knows when.

I don't know where that was said, but it makes perfect sense they really don't have anything to gain by hamstringing high end PCs.  Very few to zero w/ a high end PC is going to purchase Xbox Series X so that won't help MS, it will just sour the taste of PC users if they don't restore visuals.  They certainly aren't terrible now but alas we've been spoiled a bit and as I say MS/A will gain nothing by not addressing this.  Ideal might be something intermediate between SU4 and SU5.

Let’s wait and see with what Asobo comes up in the next months.

As they have multimonitor on their ToDo list, the pc version will have “more” features than the XBox version.

So masking some performance costing features on the XBox version that will be accessible for the PC version is probably the way to are going.

In general I'm happy with the update, gives much better performance. The only problem I have with it is the fact they categorically denied beforehand they would nerf or degrade anything, yet I'm finding out on every flight I make some little or not so little thing that they in fact nerfed or degraded.

If there would be no issues and visual degradation and only better performance - (almost) nobody would complain.
