Strange square patterned texture on cockpit

Featured Replies

I've seen this strange squarish pattern before and they appear during night/dawn/dusk hours. I've also seen it on other planes such as the gotgravel vertigo. If I can recall, this strange texture appears when there's a source of light shining onto it. I've tried upgrading my graphics driver (clean install) and the issue is still there. Anyone know what the cause of this is and how to fix it? I can't fly at night due to this, it looks awful.

I get the same occasionally, only seen this since SU5. Not worked out the cause.

I've never seen those. Might be related to incompatible livery

I've seen this too and I think it was caused by a bad livery. Try with default livery to see if it goes away.

I see this effect in PMDG's DC6, I have only flown it in daylight, but the effect happens if you switch any of the panel lights on, if you switch them off it goes away, very annoying though, I hope it is fixed soon.

Is it linked to the other checkerboard pattern issue with the external lights and clouds?  Some are saying scaling above 100% causes it with newer drivers, and rolling back to Nvidia driver 466.77 will also solve it.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I haven't tried changing liveries to see if that's the cause. But my scaling is at the default 100%. It happens with my previous NVIDIA drivers as well as the latest ones.

I also see this issue on the lights shining from gotgravels vertigo plane as well during the night/dawn/dusk times.

The problem went away after I disabled some mods. Now to figure out which mod or mods was causing the issue.

Did you find out which mod it was? Several of us have had this issue but rolling back drivers solved it. If it’s a mod which can be dispensed of that would allow me to update drivers again and play Doom Eternal as well…

Not yet. I haven't had the chance to but will let you know once I do find out.
