This is generally achieved when pressing the center of the Baro button. I reported that to the team already. On my first and only flight yesterday with the new MOD, the A/T would not stay on after takeoff, I realised that when my speed was dangerously slipping down, I monitored it manually and restarted A/T, after a few seconds, it did control the speed again and I never had to take over there after. Upon reaching ToD, I dialed the new altitude and the plane started its descent normally, but after about 2'000 feet, it stabilized and again the speed started winding down, I had to switch to VS. The STD altitude button also is not working, but this is minor. I will report those to the team. It remains that I am thrilled to see what they have done to improve this aircraft so far and do hope today's WU6 won't break anything to their superb work. We ought to be terribly grateful to all these "volunteer" developers improving this great hobby, FlyByWire, Heavy, Salty, Working Title and H Nielsen to name only a few of these sharing their passion with such altruism! Hats off to you ladies and gentlemen! Near as I can tell now it's looking at whatever value you put in the FMC as a Cruz Alt, regardless of what the ALT adjuster knob is set at. It looks like WU6 will fix the altitude/ATC mismatch today! September 7, 20214 yr Author FWIW, I did convey the two known problems to David at HD team on Discord: 1. Only way to change altitude is by inputting a new value into the FMC's Cruz Altitude field as inputting a change into the ALT knob then pressing the button does not work on the autopilot panel. 2. Barometric pressure button press STD does not work. Hopefully as they adapt to WU6 if they need to they can fix this, so once again we're back to what at least works, the OEM 787-10. Please check FMC VNAV pg 2 and see what is MAX CRZ alt. The airplane will not climb above that on VNAV, actually will trigger a message and if is getting close to that value it will shallow your ROC and never pass above that value unless you change to flchange or vs. It is more complicated than this and not enough space here to elaborate. FCOM2 will explain that situation. If you are in CRZ mode (at the correct CRZ altitude) and dial a new higher ALT and push the button on MCP that will update automatically CRZ page (VNAV pg 2). Probably that is not fixed yet in that mod. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.
