Camera in VC question: roll, is it possible?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a question, is it any key (cant find it) to have roll inside cockpit? External drone camera has it but I cant find any keys for roll inside the plane. I can use keyboard to go forward, back, left, right, look down or up but no for roll of picture when Im in VC.

I need it sometimes when I switch to 2D, in fact I fly almost 99% of the time in VR so generally I don't need it, just for 2D sometimes.

Yes, you can use TrackIR and the good news is; if you have a webcam, youcan use it as a really good TrackIR.

Here is the link on how to do this.

I am using it and it is really succesfull. (A good solution to avoid buying a new TrackIR)

Happy Flying

One word :- TrackIR.

I have TiR but its covered with a very thick layer of dust and now it isnt connected even and I don't even feel like doing it waste of time for TrackIR for me. 😁

I know TiR can do it but I need a shortkey for this from keyboard.

Yes there is roll up down left right which is what I dedicated my ladder hat on the Warthog to on day one of the sim. I had the very same cockpit roll hat in every version of FS since maybe FS98.

Roll views:

cockpit look down

cockpit look up

cockpit look left

cockpit look right

The above commands only work in cockpit view, not outside view, not showcase/drone view.

So, you can just put the same type of commands (but not the same commands) for rolling the drone fly directions on the same hat. These (below) will work in showcase/drone view, not cockpit view, not outside view.

So the very same hat rolls the cockpit view and rolls the direction the drone is flying, depending on whether you are in the cockpit, or in the drone.

Drone roll views:

Pitch drone up

Pitch drone down

Yaw drone left

Yaw drone right

Thx for replay, however I think (what you wrote) you talk about yaw and pich, not roll (if you use roll - horizon will turn also witn your head).

The 8 commands I listed above are the same as the FSX 'PAN' commands. You can pan or you can translate the views in 4 directions. I never needed to roll the drone in order to fly it in any direction I needed to go to. So anyway, maybe you can't roll the drone camera, I'm not sure.
