Airport Buildings

Recommended Posts

Flew the 172 from EGNT to EGBJ on an uneventful flight earlier and on arrival at Gloucestershire, the airport was flat.  No buildings, no hangars, no control tower. Just a flat airfield.

Restarted MSFS at EGBJ and all the buildings had reappeared.  What happened to the buildings on arrival do you think? I don't recall this happening before, but it made the last part of a fairly long flight annoyingly unrealistic.

Internet was fine at 40 mbs and scenery was loading fine all of the way.

I have had similar (quite often) but with some segments of the buildings missing (roofs, ect.) and jetways.  Really strange.

Nope, this is a known bug that has been with us for quite some time now. Happens randomly at default airports. I have seen it in the USA and the UK.

Sometimes entire airport buildings disappear, other times just parts like roof structures disappear.

About time Asobo fix this bug that they themselves introduced in one of their previous sim updates.

I flew yesterday from Heathrow to Vienna, LOWW. Terminal 5 at Heathrow had no jetways, Terminal 2 did. On arrival at Vienna there were jetways but no buildings! I've not experienced this before.

Had the same at Oxford Kidlington (EGTK).  Just all flat - no buildings.  Switched off PC - turned back on and all buildings were back as they were.  Strange.

I've seen this at Dublin. On arrival, no buildings but starting a flight there, everything was populated

I posted about this a while back, for me it was my home airport EGPH

I also had trees in the middle of EGLL sprouting in the central area. Real emmersion killers.

I decided to buy the EGPH scenery but it will be the only thing I buy for msfs until they sort all the problems out.

I fly 99% of the time airliners, so having pretty scenery means zilch for me. I want proper ai and correct weather depiction (although that is getting marginally better).

I still say all the pc owners were guinea pigs for the xbox development, but thats just my opinion.

Mean while these emersion killers rumble on with Asobo not really doing anything about it accept to say oh we are going to look at it.

I'm betting all of those are data feed issues. Quite a number of members here have reported issues during flights yesterday.

There are some airports however where buildings are missing with just flat blobs of color on the ground, and in those cases it is every day, every hour, every minute.  Check the default airports at KESN and KCTJ as examples.  Fortunately, JB of here on Avsim, created a nice addon for KESN as it is my home airport.  It is available on TO.

All of the buildings at KBWD are also missing.  There are cars in the parking lot, but where the buildings should be there are only white squares and rectangles shown on the ground.  This happens every time I start from or fly to there.

I don't see any either. Some airports have been forgotten by the Asobo airport algorithm. It is relatively rare in my experience but it happens. If it is important to you, send a Zen desk ticket.
