What if Bill Gates was in this plane?

Featured Replies

Runway 30 in KOAK, Oakland, California is still unusable.

The bug report was submitted weeks ago before today's update. What exactly does one do to get a bug fix prioritized and fixed?

It seems to me like this is low hanging fruit and it should be an easy fix? It doesn't happen in other airports. So this is likely an isolated problem and not a systemic issue in the sim.

Oakland is a few miles away from a photogrammetry city (San Francisco) and a high resolution Premium Deluxe airport KSFO (San Francisco International Airport). KOAK Oakland is also used by Fedex and UPS cargo.

So in other words, it's in line behind bugs that were submitted months ago.

Problems like that are annoying, but expecting instant gratification is unreasonable.

Can't you paint it red or something?

I don't understand the apparent joke (?) about Bill Gates, can someone enlighten me?

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

It has. I've had similar issues at CYOW, usually fixed by turning off Photogrammetry.

Hmmm... CYOW is my home airport. Haven't had this issue, haven't turned off photogrammetry. Can you let me know where on the airport the issue is? Maybe I haven't taxied there yet...

It'll take a VIP or important people such a Bill Gates, many times the richest man in the world and founder of Microsoft; piloting or as a passenger in a Cessna using runway 30 KOAK and MSFS fanatic in real life, complaining to the Microsoft Board of Directors to get this bug fix.

I was thinking of a post about Facebook in another forum when I wrote this too. Facebook has this policy that specifically states 'all posting rules apply to all'.  The whistleblower, a former Facebook employee, who came out last week revealed that to be a lie. VIP people are exempt from the rules. They get priority and treated differently (https://www.wsj.com/articles/facebook-files-xcheck-zuckerberg-elite-rules-11631541353). Thousands of flite simmers can request a bug fix they care about.which affects everyone. But as in real life, it only takes one person, a Bill Gates, to get something fixed or done.
