Seasons, when?!

I bought it but quite frankly I'm not interested in moving files in and out per location and time of year that feels like back in FSX days.  I look forward to seasons being truly integrated which I'm sure Asobo will be doing--this feels pretty crude by MSFS' standards.  But...good for now and kudos to the dev for working on it.

In a  year or two you may have seasons almost at good as what 4 seasons offers now. hopefully.

I don't see it that way Bob, except for the wait, so that's why I bought it.  I have no doubt Asobo will do it better and fully integrate it in due time.

It looks pretty good now, Asobo would have to really do something spectacular to top it.

Wouldn't be the first time Asobo did something spectacular 😊.  Plopping in a set of new textures is just so pedestrian by today's standards I think it will be shader driven by location, elevation, time of year, and so forth, seamless and effective, as it should be.  In due time...

Its all about the console sales now!

Yeah, definitely not about the regular sim and world updates we get for free. Not about all of them at all.

It could be a red herring but I just landed at KDEN (one of two home airports so very familiar) and performance degraded the closer I got.  Plus, the fall colors were so overdone, absolutely nonsensical oversaturated, poor variability, etc.  This appears to be yet another purchase I likely kick myself for doing--I've bought 6 airports, uninstalled 3, the ground vehicles LFVR addon and uninstalled it when it fouled w/ how marshallers worked and swapped in a poor substitute for the trolley.   This is why I maintain for me much better to wait until things are done right.  I'll give this a few more flights and see if the performance hit was indeed a red herring, but even visually they look just like they came out of P3D.  Leaf colors really need programmable shaders tied to all the variables that affect change such that they change w/ conditions, not all at once, etc.  Right now in Colorado we're having a lovely fall but not every tree is bright orange as in this mod there are lots of intermediate colors, reds, etc.  This just looks too canned to me.

The jury is in on the performance impact of Bijan's Seasons:  ~1.2Gb more VRAM required and I believe greater CPU use (at KDEN, which is remarkable since there aren't that many trees at the actual airport!).  I have the VRAM no worries there but as mentioned arrival into KDEN performance really tanked w/ frame rates in the 24-26 range which is below the critical 30 for Vsync at 30 and that does not typically happen for me at KDEN.  Of course one can dial back settings but really, it's just not worth it for me.  It really begs for a shader-driven solution which is not only hugely performance-friendly but with much greater potential for something really matching reality--but a big project no doubt.  Can you imagine programming shaders to look at tree type, elevation, latitude, and even temperature and having them actually morph changes over many days or weeks.  This is what we all would love to see but as I say presumably a big project, though not certain--may actually be easier to pull off than what Bijan has created.   I may drop them into the sim periodically when flying less demanding aircraft.

Eh? The LVFR ground vehicle addons do not touch how the marshallers work or how any of the vehicles work, they're just model swaps.
