Well, there's an issue with resolving bugs. Take the message my brother, a games developer, sent to me last night. He'd spent all day on one bug. Still not resolved at a late hour. The code worked in his editor, but not at another end. Same code. No logical, obvious reason. But sometimes, the code might work on every test machine they have, even every beta tester's machine, but then it gets to yours, and you become the unlucky one. No doubt there'll be head-scratching for a while on the Asobo/Any Other Developer side, but they'll get there, eventually (unless of course it is a local problem they have no control over).

Anyway, just an anecdotal example of some development experiences, why bugs aren't always caught, and the headaches the programmers experience when things just don't make sense (not immediately, or even after a whole day, anyway -- but eventually, hopefully 😉).

Yes except that it hasn't fixed it for me, and by reading this and other forums, the problem remains for other users after WU6 too.

Reading this from another topic from yourself "It is nearly a month now that I have been unable to launch a single flight!" I think your problems are a lot deeper than the 55-60% load bug. I do hope you can find a fix. It must be very frustrating.

Me too.  It just struck - beforehand I'd had 3 good weeks of trouble-free flying at good quality rates.  I took a 3 week break, then bang!  Nothing works after about 70% load of launching flights.  It's a complete mystery.  I had promised myself to let it lie and return in a year, but it keeps nagging away at the back of my mind;-)

This has probably been covered already, but have you had any updates in that time since it worked -- Windows? Drivers? Installed any new software? Anti-virus updates (or even a new anti-virus software?) Have you disabled anti-virus and then run the sim? Have you tried uninstalling every add-on for the sim (including world updates)?

Thanks yes - have rolled back drivers, disabled all security apps, and have no add-ons.

If I think of something out of the ordinary, that hasn't been covered, I'll let you know... 😆

Do you have a page file set, and how large (especially compared to physical RAM size)? And do you have a HDD, SSD, or M.2 drive?

Did you end up doing a fresh install of Windows 11? If you do, try only installing the Win 11 drivers for your system and go one at a time (chipset, video, etc.). If there isn't one released yet, the standard MS ones are fairly stable.

Hope you get to the bottom of this.

Yes I have tried setting both a defined page file and system managed page file.  I have also tried no page file - now back to system managed.

Windows is on a 250gb SSD, fs on a 4TB black WD drive

Thanks for the tip - still waiting for Windows 11 to be offered...

I've noticed lately that there's a lot more aliasing lately. I'm not sure if it started after SU6 but it's definitely more noticeable. One of the things I loved earlier on is that I finally had a sim where there was absolutely NO aliasing. I have a 3080 and my settings are at TAA. Does anyone know why this could be happening and if there's a stronger or better way to get anti-aliasing.

I just posted a topic where I was able to lower my graphics settings without a noticeable reduction in graphics quality. This enabled me to run Render Scaling at 130.  TAA plus Render Scaling at 130 gives really sharp textures and muched reduced shimmering on buildings.

Was going to suggest similar. Essentially, the higher your resolution, the less jaggies you should notice.

Hopefully Windows 11, as suggested, could somehow help, once it does arrive...

Back to my line of thinking, I have set a defined page file that doubles my physical RAM -- so I effectively have 64GB of system memory, which both main processor and GPU (when there's a VRAM insufficiency) can dip into.

Personally, I would have the sim on the SSD. Mine is on a M.2 drive, plus I have the Steam version, so it's fully installed on the M.2 drive (I think MS Store version insists on putting some of it on the main C drive? Could be wrong.) My thinking is your HDD could have bad sectors, as they are more prone to it, being mechanical. Especially the older it gets. I wondered whether, as it gets stuck in the same place loading, it's encountering bad sectors. Do you have available space on the SSD to reinstall it on there to try it? I think the sim now, without add-ons, occupies about 70-80GB space. It would be worth a shot.

Another thing to try, from the main menu, before you do any flying, set everything to low graphics, turn off photogrammetry, Bing data, online traffic, multiplayer -- just strip it all back to everything possible off that can be, lowest graphics, even a lower resolution than you might like (with scaling no more than 100%) -- and select the C152 to fly (as it has no glass cockpit/complex system), then see if you can fly. Also, remove any cache and rolling cache (delete and turn them off).

😄 P.S. my phone has added this laughing emoji, for some reason, and won't let me remove it. I'm definitely not laughing at this situation, but I am keen to get you flying again!

Much appreciated March Hare.  I will consider doing as you advise and report back some time in the coming days - can't afford a spare SSD - but might be able to make room on the main one for now.

I hope you can find that room (if the other ideas about stripping back settings don't work). I have everything crossed for either or a combination of both solutions to work.

Edit: And if stripping it all back to low/off wherever possible works, you can start putting things back on/up one by one to see how far you can push it.
