Where is this location?

Featured Replies

I've had this as a Windows 10 wallpaper for years. Does anyone know where this place is located? Thank you.

Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space.
Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).

It's not in MSFS2020. But maybe it's in P3D or Xplane. Try posting in those forums for an answer.

Sorry, but I don't understand. How can a location in the planet be not available in MSFS2020? Btw, I'm pretty sure the above was downloaded from a website that had nothing to do with sims. It didn't identify the location.

Regardless of whether it's a sim splash screen or Windows desktop wallpaper, this looks like Scotland to me!

I've been staring at that wallpaper for years and I figured it's time to take a look in MSFS.

Looks like Glencoe western Highlands of Scotland. Looking South down the A82.

It may just be the creation of an artist who envisioned the setting.  i.e. fictional.

I just googled "Glencoe, Scotland" and took a look from the ground level.  It looks it. Thanks. Now, I just need to figure out how to fly there in MSFS.

I'm amazed you found the wallpaper itself and the website where it came from. Thank you. I'm looking for a nearby airport to explore the place. It looks like a very scenic area. I'm wondering how it'll look year round eg. summer vs winter.

Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space.

I'm up for this little challenge! I wonder who will be the first one to post summer and winter screenshots for this location?

That would be nice. But, I'm still trying to remember which YouTube video provided directions on how to find any google maps location in MSFS.

The nearest airport appears to be North Connel (EGEO). Fly roughly north east and explore! I'm going there now.

Apart from LittleNavMap (excellent) I also use FSPM VFRmap - available from the top menu when in flight. Both are free.
