November 19, 20214 yr First impression ? SU7 is bad for me, the worse update I've had. Stutters and long pauses I never had, strange ominous clouds close to the ground. What in Heavens did they do with their weather ! November 19, 20214 yr VR and Track IR flyers .. i completely sympathize with you all and hope your issues get an immediate hotfix. I think this is the broken aspect of this update and these simmers rightfully need this addressed asap. I couldn't try the sim out till 1am this morning due to some pretty demanding obligations so as usual i hung out on the forums for a bit to observe how everyone else experiences were. Somehow my download speed was capped at 70mbsec so this was a longish wait as opposed to the usual double download rate 144mb sec speeds. Oh well .. cant win them all. After putting back my difficulty settings and updating the FBW aircraft i must say that i this update is a mostly positive one for me. I did note a few issues though. 1.I probably lost maybe one to two frames but i chalk that down to the cost of adding new graphical elements as well as needing more cpu processing resources. (No free lunch) 2. The haze/fog transition was abrupt leaving lugano for malpensa. This needs to be worked on in future updates 3. the Sun/Shadow freeze bug is still there. My positives Zurich is looking real nice The haze element really adds to the visual accuracy (in my opinion) I didn't realize how important this was until i saw it for myself. They have gotten started on DX 12 Shout out to the FBW team for fixing the Dev version of their AC so quickly ! November 19, 20214 yr I have yet to find something positive to say about SU7. Here are the negatives from my perspective. This list will probably grow if I can actually get the sim to run well enough to actually put in some flight time. - VR is now basically unusable due to issues with mouse/controller not working in menus. Apparently TrackIR is no better. This is a complete show-stopper for me, since I refuse to fly any sim in "pancake mode". - Sim crashes when exiting out of VR - Performance is worse than SU6 - I appreciate the addition of fog in the sim but it is way overdone. Virtually all of my flights using real-time weather result in loss of visibility outside of maybe 1 mile radius. - Clouds are even more pixelated than before (and it was already a problem since SU5), - Easily fixed, but having settings altered and all dummy aids turned on by default after the upgrade is a ridiculous "feature" - DX12 option is pointless. I have yet to see a report where DX12 improved anything visually, while virtually 100% have reported DX12 severely degrades performance. I appreciate that Asobo is working on DX12 integration, but why release it to the public at this time when clearly the sim is not ready? I have no idea how Asobo can release a patch introducing such obvious and in some cases, game breaking bugs (though I shouldn't be surprised after the debacle of SU5). Most issues would be obvious by ANY beta tester within minutes of firing up the sim. I had every intention of purchasing the Reno Racing expansion, but that seems pointless when the basic sim is now "broken"
November 19, 20214 yr I just tried the £49.99 Reno addon. 100% categorically it’s a game, however a really really good one! It’s actually really fun. Great way to unwind. I’m looking forward to a few multiplayer races once I master it.
