November 18, 20214 yr I wonder if somebody can help me with this conundrum. I originally downloaded MSFS to my D drive and installed MSFS Add on Linker too, pointing it to my community folder on the D drive. During one of the MSFS updates I seem to remember forgetting to tell the installer to update to D drive and it installed everything again to the standard C drive. I have only just noticed that when I run "Community folder finder" it points to the C drive (and the folder is fully populated and up to date) but checking out the settings in MSFS AddOns, it shows the following: d:\wpsystem\s-1-5-21-819395844-1098284098-2466235434-1000\appdata\local\packages\microsoft.flightsimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\localcache\packages\community and that looks fully populated as well. Should I have TWO community folders, both which appear to be up to date, or have I messed up? As MSFS is working fine albeit slowish at loading up, I am wary about deleting what appears on the D drive. I hope somebody can understand my rambling and advise me what I should or should not do please. November 18, 20214 yr Most likely one of them is a shortcut to the other. ...jim ASUS Prime Z790-E, Intel i9 13900K, 32Gb DDR5 Ram, Nvidia 3090 24Gb, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB and 1 TB, Samsung Odyssey G9 Ultrawide 49" G-SYNC Monitor.
November 18, 20214 yr Maybe not related but after I installed Windows 11, I simply copied over the main download folder I had backed up but also the AppData folder for the sim, thinking it would just get all my settings over. However, Contrail store kept pointing to some other location (old Windows 10 location, before I made some harddrive sorting). I realized it had written something to the AppData flightsim store about the location of the installation. So I deleted that and let it create a new one, Contrail saw the new location and everything worked again. Maybe you also have something similar going on. After further investigating I am even more confused as if I paste C:\Users\Peter\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community into MS File Explorer, it actually opens up the community folder in D Drive - but I certainly never set up MSFS AddOns to this file: d:\wpsystem\s-1-5-21-819395844-1098284098-2466235434-1000\appdata\local\packages\microsoft.flightsimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\localcache\packages\community I am sure I am going senile 😞 AMD Ryzen 7 5800X on ROG CROSSHAIR VIIl DARK HERO (AM4), Asus ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3080 V2 OC and 32 GB Vengeance Pro Ram 3600MHz. November 18, 20214 yr Author 1 minute ago, Sethos said: Neither was yours. But I think Bert was right. I was worried about how full my C drive was getting the other day and took a note of the free space on both C and D drives. I have currently downloaded the magnificent sum of 9 Gb of MSFS update in 2.5 hours and it has indeed gone to D drive, which confirms what Bert said. My supposition was wrong.
