Just because MS is paying them doesn't mean that they are obligated to provide their outmost best level of work. They are contracted to provide a certain level at a certain cost with deadlines attached per their contractual obligations. After that it is INDEED FREE for the end user paid for by MS.

You can .. but i highly recommend against equating the situation above versus them putting this out on their own using their own deadlines and resources and knowing that they are dependent 100% on the proceeds of sales and thus the level of marketability and product output needs to be higher level  for it to be even worth it.

Totaly agree, if they had made it as good or better than the paided version (I have it) then MSFS would have upset FSDT. So imo the brief would have been " make a good airport but dont go mad, we want to leave a market for 3PD.

So imo this airport was done right and is great for free. It also imo does not take anything away from there top line paid addons.

If you want a top of the line version, pay for it, if not be gratefull for the upgrade for free.

You MUST delete it from the Content Manager.

Just removing the package from the Official/Onestore folder won't work, because on the next restart, you'll be asked for a "mandatory" update, because the package is part of the *Standard* simulator, it's not a Premium/World update package.

A Premium/World Update/Community package can be removed by simply removing its folder (or the Content Manager, it's the same) but, something that's part of the Standard flight simulator MUST be removed from the Content Manager, in order to not trigger a forced re-download on the next restart.

Unfortunately, this is possible on PC only.

On the XBOX, the "Delete" button in the Content Manager doesn't appear for something that is part of the Standard package, it only appears for Premium/World Update packages.

We consider this a serious issue because, as of today, XBOX users are prevented to use what they already paid for, which is aggravated by the fact there's no way to access the Content.XML on XBOX, so users have no chance to try sorting out conflicts by rearraning packages there so, the only way to prevent double objects at Zurich on Xbox, is to Uninstall the FSDT version.

I believe this is the first time it happened, that an handcrafted airport has been added to the base sim after an existing version of the same airport was already sold on the Marketplace. Previously, all handcrafted airports were all part of a World Update, so they were all optional downloads and easily uninstalled, even on Xbox.

I really want to believe this was just an oversight from Microsoft, who flagged Zurich to be part of the base sim instead of an update to the Switzerland WU, and of course we reported this as soon SU7 Beta started, and we did get some votes by other testers that owned the FSDT version but, SU7 Beta didn't last enough for the issue to be taken into account.

Sorry, but I can't understand some people. If people claim here that the Gaya version looks like freeware just because Microsoft gives it to us for free, then they must be crazy. What Gaya has delivered here is absolute payware quality. There is no doubt about that at all. The AFCAD certainly has its flaws, heavy gates are completely missing. I'm sure there will be an update for this. And also the night version could do with a bit more luminosity. But otherwise, there is absolutely nothing to criticise in my opinion.
It is clear that Dreamflight delivered an absolute top quality in P3D at the time, which still looks very good today. Especially in view of the favourable update price for P3D users. But they don't come close to the new version of Gaya.
If you compare the individual buildings side by side, it quickly becomes clear that Gaya has designed the better scenery. The ground markings are also much more natural and the colours are more restrained. The driveways/bridges behind the main terminal are accurately built and the interiors of the individual terminals are detailed. By the way, the heligrill is completely missing in the Dreamflight version.
I want to say it again: please remember that we got Gaya-LSZH for FREE!

Asobo/Microsoft bought it off them. On one of previous Q&As, Jorg said they saw the WIP version, loved it and paid them to include it in the sim.
