Featured Replies

This happened after I updated the driver, the lights flickering and the screen tearing, saw some folks before complaining about this before though

The driver must be bugged. Roll back to a previous version, perhaps.

Yeah perhaps, another thing maybe a clean driver reinstall to try 🥴

Yes. I always do a clean install. It does mean I have to change all my Control Panel settings back to how they were, but I think it's worth the effort for a clean install.

Yeah indeed, I always like express install, you don't need to touch the configs. Can we save the control panel configs? 🤔

Not that I'm aware of, unfortunately.

I also had some weird flashings with the latest driver, so I reverted back to trusted 457.30 and all is fine again, I will keep this driver for now, I have never encountered any problem with it, and why change something that works perfectly .

the screen tearing also shows up in screenshots. So it's something actually being rendered, not just an FPS mismatch.

It doesn't seem to happen all the time, same with the lights. Usually the second or third flight. At least for me.

No I don’t think so. Pretty sure something the latest driver has messed up. Before I updated today, there was no such light flashing and screen tearing

I had this with one driver before but not with the new one.

I did a clean and fresh driver install following these instructions:

https://forums.tomshardware.com/faq/how-to-perform-a-clean-install-of-your-video-card-drivers.2402269/

And I haven't seen the tearing or lights yet.

edit: after 4 new flights it has shown up again

I'm not sure what you're saying? I never denied anything in my post.

The newest driver from Nvidia nearly bricked my graphics card. Went to clean install it and bam black screen, reboot didn't fix it ended up having to switch to my integrated GPU to get into windows to fix the issue...A clean instal through GeForce experience didn't fix the issue. Ended up having to download DDU and do complete wipe of anything Nvidia on my system to fix the issue... Its a bugged driver to say the least.

What was the Nvidia driver version before the current one? Anyone remember? I might downgrade to that since it worked fine.

Did you try the 496.84, which is the hotfix for 496.76? That's what I'm using and I don't have that problem.

Also experiencing this tearing along the very top of my screen when panning around. Quite odd as it does not seem to happen on each and every flight.

Selfish-Me is somehow glad to see I am not the only one... Guess I will also try rolling back to an earlier driver.
