I thought I saw somewhere that there would be a separate tree range slider in this patch, but I cannot find it. I guess it hasn't been implemented?

I suggest Medium...gives good realistic coverage and takes some heat off the rendering system.

It is not a tree range slider, but a tree density slider.. 😉

I suggest Low.

It did not make it into SU7, unknown reason (or I did not see any representative posts over at the off. forums).

I am aware of the LOD and terraine sliders, which are not what I am talking about. There was supposed to be a separate slider to just increase the tree draw range ring without also increasing every other detail. Trees are not very taxing on the system, but the current solution that has baked everything in to one slider creates a big tax on my system running on an ultra-wide monitor.

I'm one of the "tree people"...

 

I'm highly expecting the next patch to include a tree radius slider, with the furthest out setting being the pathetic tree radius we have today.  I say pathetic relatively.  The sim looks astonishing, but I don't see why with such incredible visuals we still have the (albeit slightly better than before) ring of trees around the aircraft.

They gave us a lod slider for all the object scenery, where trees are just one object affected. It also includes buildings etc, and I cannot use that slider on my ultra-wide monitor without getting stutters. I just want a single slider for trees so I can enjoy the green carpet it makes in the sim without also affecting other visuals. An extended tree line will cover up blemishes in the ground textures, and is a CHEAP way to increase the visual fidelity of the sim. They broke the addon half a year ago or more, and they are spending an awful lot of time bringing it back. The iterations they have given us has not fit the bill so far.

Yep, totally agreed.  There's no way around it.  People generally seem happy flying around with stunning fidelity and a late nineties ring of trees around the plane, and Asobo seem incapable of also seeing how good things looked with that mod..  So we can only hope.  I genuinely believe we will get a slider, but high end will only be what we have now.  I guess different things annoy different people.  It has improved for sure, but not to how good it was with that mod. 

I think we need a safe space for tree people to live in peace.
