Went Win 11 - CTD every start of flight unless DX12(Beta)...

So, I made the decision to fully migrate into Win 11, mostly because of the very Linux-friendly this new Windowze system appears to be ...

I made a fresh install of Win 11, applied all updates, pushed MFS and went testing...

.) All aircraft ( default and the FI Spitfire ) cause CTD as soon as I load a flight ( at LPPT , Live Weather ) and start my takeoff run. The sim crashes instantly...

.) Weather, although correct METAR is displayed for the airport and shows "LPPT 040830Z 24007KT 9999 FEW002 BKN010 13/13 Q1027 ", shows no clouds and just a LOT of HAZE ....

.) I decided to switch to DX12 Beta and, I was able to start a flight and actually continue without problems, something I was not able to experience with the default DX 11 mode enabled...

.) I probably made the error of installing Nvidia's latest driver version which appears to be the cause of problems for most users around here ...

.) The Turbo Porter is a total joke, flight dynamics wise....

Are you also experiencing this HAZEOBO haze in Eurupean airports ? Thought it only plagged USA locations ?  What about Win 11 going better with DX 12 ?

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

Which Nvidia driver version are you using? There's a known issue with CTDs or freezes being caused by 497.09.

I'm just startled that you actually went and reinstalled msfs!

Ok, rolled back to previous Game Ready Nvidia drivers, and no more CTDs 🙂

Also staying with DX12 because, it runs smooth and without CTDs which were affecting my Win 10 install - already something gained from migrating to Win 11 🙂

C'mon Devon, as if you didn't know me already 🙂

Now that peaked my interest! Have been uninterested in following anything related to W11 as W10 suits my needs perfectly (only MSFS and some other Games from Steam reside on my Windows disk as everything 'serious' is done under Mac Os and Linux).

Get WSL from the Windows Store ( MS version because there are many WSLs around there... ). Win 11 fully supports it, without the "burden" of having to create dual boots or virtualizers....  I bleive we still need to set the Virtualization active in the BIOS though. Mine was already.

MFS is at the moment the only flight simulator I have installed with Win 11.

.) Was forced to revert back to the previous Nvidia Geeforce drivers for my RTX 3060 Ti because unless I chose DX12 in MFS, I had CTDs with DX11 whenever I started a flight;

.) DX12 which caused some stutters in Win 10 runs super smooth / great in Win 11. Actually and although I haven't yet installed the PMDG dc-6, MFS appears more fluid in Win 11 + DX12 mode than ever for me...

.) Looking forward to install P3d v5.3 and heck how it goes. For the Airbuses P3D is still my preferred platform.

.) Looking fwd to see how XP12 works in Win 11. For me Win 10 is now History 🙂
