Do not delete your P3D folder if you want to keep your existing add-ons. Do a full re-install from the setup "Setup "Prepar3D.exe" to the same location. Delete your Shader folder. If you have FSlabs installed, update that first before running P3D. Run P3D and start a default flight to make sure everything starts up ok Run Orbx verify on base files if you have Orbx . (if you want to use it instead of the new PBR ground) Then re-sync any orbx airports if you have any. This went very smoothly for me and all seems to be working fine. All my add-ons are intact. Chase Plane, Active Sky, have updates already, as well as the Maddog if you have that. Some report a slight decrease in FPS with this new version. Possible with the road traffic setting. I couldn't find any installation instructions in the download file but I found this on the LM website: Please be aware that unlike previous version updates both content and scenery are required to be updated with version 5.3. Completely uninstalling the previous versions and running the full installer is recommended. I think I'll go with that recommendation. I saved my 5.2 simobjects and addon scenery folders. December 4, 20214 yr I uninstalled the client, content and scenery WITHOUT deactivating. Installed the 5.3 of previous. Opened ORBX and updated libraries. No problems. Didn't "delete" anything and all is well with addons.

December 4, 20214 yr Well, I skipped the 5.2 upgrade but installed the 5.3. I'm not hating it, but I've also lost 3-5 fps in performance. Now, if one is getting 50fps, that's not a big deal, but if you're like me and are getting only 20-24 fps in VC view at the gate, then it becomes a little irritating.

December 5, 20214 yr Author Well, I did the clean install after moving my simobjects and scenery files (except for Orbx) to a temporary folder. Everything works as it did and I am now reinstalling Orbx scenery while watching TV. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
