How is P3D 5.3 working out for the UGCX user base?

It works in 5.3., but still can't be used together with GSX anymore 😞

UGCX causes P3Dv5.3 CTD every time I try to use it and FS2Crew Tech Support is not much help.

Try doing a clean install of P3D V5.  I never do incremental updates because sometimes P3D can get messed up in the process.  Clean and fresh is always better.

 

Ran UGCX 2.3 Public Beta.

Pushback went smooth as silk.

No problems here.

My first install was a clean install and I am not having problems with any other add-on.  I see no reason to do another clean install.

Well, whatever your issue is it's not due to P3D 5.3 because it's working fine on my side with 5.3.

It's something else on your system.

Are you testing at a default airport?

The first time it crashed was the first time I used it with P3Dv5.3 and I was at an add-on airport.  Then I tried it at a default airport with the same result (P3D CTD).

Which aircraft are you using?

Try with a default plane.

I have used several different aircraft, both default and add-on.  I also changed my GeForce Video Driver back to the prior one since I had just updated it a few about a week ago but that didn't help.  When P3D freezes I have normal aircraft sound for a while but a short time after that the sound goes away.  Then it just sits there with the black rectangular popup that displayed in the middle of the screen as soon as I clicked on UGCX. When I decide to click on the screen, it greys out and P3D says "(Not Responding)".  At that point I can wait for a CTD or close P3D myself.

Try again, but with your Firewall off.

If your Firewall is blocking UGCX, it can cause things to go south.

It's a long shot, but try it.

Tried with Firewall off, no change.

Question:  I just installed Pushback Express for MSFS.  When I installed it, the installer showed an install option for P3D.  Will Pushback Express install and function in P3Dv5.3?

PBE will work in P3D v5 in a very very limited way.

PBE is meant for MSFS.

 

If using P3D/FSX, you'd use UGCX or PBE.

For your UGCX P3D 5.3 issue, you're going to need to experiment.

Do you fly IVAO ?  I had the same problem and disabling IVAO solved it. Well, of course, it is NOT solved because I want to use both IVAO an UGCX

Was IVAO updated to support 5.3?

I've never heard of any conflicts with UGCX and IVAO before.

 

Altitude is currently crashing the P3D HTML context menu, which GSX, SODE, and another addons are using.

You need to edit Prepar3D v5\Gauges\Missionpanels.cfg

Make sure to backup the file first!

change:

to:
scaleform_file = menuwindow;
scaleform_instance_name = MenuPrompt;

[Window10]
change:
html_file = ATC;
html_instance_name = ATC;
to:
scaleform_file = menuwindow;
scaleform_instance_name = ATC;

[Window11] ; for GSX
change:
html_file = Menu;
html_instance_name = SimConnectWindow;
to:
scaleform_file = menuwindow;
scaleform_instance_name = SimConnectWindow;

The numbers of individual Windows might be different, simply follow the parameters and identify the Windows through them.
