But it's not actually ON television...

I say it is on TV. Foundation was excellent, all the Star Trek series are on TV, lots of science documentaries, War of the Worlds remake is good, Altered Carbon was excellent, The Expanse is phenomenal, Westworld remake was good, Black Mirror, Man in The High Castle was superb, all the Stargate episodes are on TV, Firefly is a classic, Babylon 5 of course, Humans was very good, Deep Space 9 is unbetterable, Enterprise is superb, Ridley Scott's Raised by Wolves was very good indeed.

I'm sure you can see the common denominator. 😃

From the trailers the President insisted that they must have a female astronaut. "Didn't anyone tell the President that we don't have any women astronauts."

We have lots of women astronauts now of course. Greater than 70 I recall.

In the Apollo days there was Ann Dickson but she didn't amass the required 600 hours of flying time needed.

Yes the "woke" lets have lots of lady astronauts in "For All Mankind" is annoying but the way the series depicts the possible outcome of Russia beating the US to the Moon is interesting

There was the Mercury 13 group of woman, which is where I think the show got some of the idea from.

Any program that cannot be dialed directly into a TV "box" and does not require an internet connection I consider as being "ON" television.

Yes, I can now "cast" whatever I get via a direct stream to one of the TV's here in my house, but that's not the same thing at all.  🙉

You might consider it only TV if its from the TV tuner, but its December 2021, 25% of TV is streamed now.

It kind of is.

Streamed from the internet or not, or via an aerial or via a satellite dish or via a fibre optic cable it is on your TV screen

Anyway, how we personally define "on TV" aside, there are some great TV series available to watch.

Actually, since switching providers from 75 ohm cable to fiber optic, all of my TV and internet are 'streamed.'

However, to watch anything not already provided via the Wi-Fi box AT&T provides for my Direct TV channels has to come from one of my computers. I pay ~$80/month for the service as it is. I simply cannot afford paid access for alternate programming. 🤔

No computers required here. My TV has the apps. All I need is the internet connection. There are some free streaming services, but the majority you have to pay for. Netflix is £6. Amazon Prime is £7.99 a month but gets you free rapid delivery on Amazon. There are dongles you p[lug into the back of your TV for those without Smart TV's. It gets expensive if you have many streaming services to pay for each month of course.

Back in the UK we had Sky Satellite TV.

Oddly enough the TV I use for simming has most of the apps built in: it is a so-called "Smart TV."  Anything Amazon offers I can get for no additional charge since I've had a "Prime" account for the past six or so years. But, my sim system isn't set up for comfortable TV viewing.
