Question | P3Dv5.3 (or higher) | Carenado | Reality XP 750

I have not been able to find a definitive answer out there in my inquiry.

1) What Carenado aircraft, am I able to put the Reality XP 750 unit into? (A list of them)

2) I have Navigraph. I tried updating the airac for the GTN 750 unit but my Navigraph airac updater doesn't recognize the GTN 750 unit's existence on  my computer

3)  Has Jeppeson change their Approach charts, like I've notice now some LOC DME's have blue arcs around the LOC beacon

Any help from someone who knows these questions thoroughly, but short effective response preferably. Thank you

1) Honestly with Carenado it's a mess. I was able to put it into my Navajo even though it had the "replacement" panel but was still a mess. So here's the thing EVEN if I finally have it in my Navajo I still use the Pop-Out on my second screen. Now if only everyone did it like A2A.

2) Navigraph doesn't and can't update the airac for GTN it's built into the trainer and gets updated by Garmin about once or twice a year. The best you can do is stick with the Airac that matches the GTN's version.

A semi-related question: How well are RXP's gauges integrated into panels that aren't directly intended for them? E.g. Carenado's PA44, which officially only accepts the FSX-version of the RXP GNS430. How about panels that are designed for Flight One's GTN and GNS? There seems to be more of those than products that are made for the RXP add-ons (which is why I went for the F1 product, but now I want to support RXP). I don't care about 2D pop-ups, I'd like 3D VC integration, with working knobs.

@d.tsakiris

It is supposed to be very easy!

Here is a tutorial with the Carenado Cheyenne III:

Here is what you might need to know:

- The Reality XP GTN and GNS products include an in-sim live panel configuration assistant which makes swapping any other GPS gauge with Reality XP a matter of 3 clicks and 1 minute work. In other words, it is user friendly and easy to swap any gauge with RXP.

- The Reality XP GTN and GNS products also support intercepting the default simulator native GPS commands. This effectively makes any aircraft VC hard coded with the stock events to be able to directly command any RXP GPS instead, without any further modifications.

- For those aircraft which are hard coded with the F1 GPS L:Var (used for "commanding" the GPS from the VC 3D buttons/knobs), there exists a simple xml gauge on the RXP forum. It just requires to add the gauge to the panel.cfg and it will intercept and translate the proprietary F1 simvar based system into proper stock simulator GPS events, which the RXP GPS can intercept like explained above.

I don't know whether it is the case or not, but we're providing the complete modeldef.xml file 3rd party aircraft vendors can use to bind the commands in their aircraft. It is installed by default with our products on the hard drive and of course I'll send the file(s) to any vendor requesting it, along with the support they need for it. It is very easy to support RXP GTN and GNS because the products are using (intercepting) the stock GPS commands. Which means any aircraft which is using the stock GNS for example, is supposed to directly work with the RXP GNS instead (because it is using the same commands!).

Another question that I have regarding both the Reality XP GTN and GNS gauges is this: Are they currently updated for the latest hotfix for P3D 5.3 (hotfix1+1)? I am a current a user of the Flight1 GTN gauges and they are not updated as of today for the latest hotfix for 5.3. It looks like I may be switching over to the Reality XP products soon.In doing so, it will be a whole new journey for me.

Thanks,

Raymie

Thanks for your helpful reply and links. I will take a look at them.
