February 21, 20224 yr They are landing lights that flash. You use them when you are landing. 🤣 Sorry! in seriousness the flashing/pulsing landing light mode aids conspicuity, particularly in daylight hours, think of them as a very large and bright strobe. The reasoning is the same as having landing lights on below 10,000 ft, this is just the next level. February 21, 20224 yr I fly a GA which has the wig wag/pulsing landing lights integrated into each leading edge. We can also elect to have them ON. We use wig wag particularly during night time in terminal airspace because it is very easy not only to be spotted by other traffic. but also aid others in determine our flight path. I turn them to ON after receiving landing clearance. Edited February 21, 20224 yr by SAS443 EASA PPL SEPL + NQ / CB-IR in progress MSFS24 | X-Plane 12
