ATC Option Vote Request at MSFS 2020 Forums

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am requesting votes to add an option to MSFS 2020, where we can turn off the PILOT voice as a separate option. Currently, turning off voice removes both ATC and PILOT.

The reason is that you may use a voice recognition program to speak with ATC instead of pressing buttons. While speaking is more realistic, it also has the advantage of preparing you for real world ATC communications.

Even if you do not think you will ever use this, it is very possible at a later time you might change your mind and wish the option is available.

Also, it does not hurt or degrade MSFS 2020 to have this option.

Please add your vote!

Guys, we are getting there. We have 17 votes now!

This option would work well for voice recognition programs such as Pilot2ATC, VoiceAttack, Multi Crew Experience, etc.

If this sounds appealing to you, please add your vote!

This would be a nice feature to have.

Just not sure why you posted it in the SU8 beta forum. SU8 is coming out in 6 days so it will obviously not be included there.

Just voted, making it 31 at the moment. It's not a major priority for me in comparison to some other things they might address, but I would like to see the option eventually as it does clash a bit when using a mike with MCE, and to be fair, it is something where it would be a useful feature for those using MSFS as an assistance tool for real world flying practice, as it can help to overcome being shy on a mike, which is something some people suffer. Was never a problem for a 'gobby git' such as me, but there you go. 🤣

This, it needs to go in the Wishlist Forum as the Beta forum will get closed soon and forgotten about.

There is the EU phraseology mod made by Nijntje. If someone is willing you can edit the 'en-US.locPak' file and remove all the pilots spoken phrases 'tts', not the 'text' part. But the question is, would this actually work with such long phrases spoken to VoiceAttack?

But great idea!

Just a quick update, MSFS 2020 combined my post with another similar post. My post had 52 votes before they closed it down.

The good news is that after combining the threads, the total VOTE count is currently 84.

MSFS 2020 does have ATC on their list of top wishes. It is listed as #6 ATC Incorrect Phraseology, which they are currently investigating.

It would make sense to add the PILOT VOICE ON/OFF feature during this update.

If you have not taken a moment to vote yet, please do!

Here is the post if you would like to add your vote:
