As you can see the stuttering when changing or using the views makes using MSFS impossible! Any advice or idea's would be most welcome.

Offscreen Terrain Pre-caching on ultra? Shader cache cleared? DX11?

Just switched to DX12, seems to have fixed the problem, I still have no idea what the problem is however.

This does not look like stuttering to me. There are conflicting inputs going on there, like two actions are fighting each other. Go thru your key assignments in case something got messed up there. What controller are you using to look around? Do you also have a head tracker? Or some other USB device you recently added?

What RaptryOne said.  Try unplugging all your peripherals except your keyboard (yes, even unplug your mouse).  Then try panning your views with just your keyboard.  If your views pan normally with your keyboard, plug in your other peripherals one by one, until you figure out the peripheral that is causing the problem.

And of course, you should be doing this test with an empty Community folder (and even remove and Marketplace add-ons).  Add-ons, whether they are in your Community folder, or they are Marketplace add-ons, can be a source of bugs.  You can also run MSFS in safe mode which should ignore your add-ons, I think (safe mode was added to MSFS in SU6 or SU7 I think).

One of the first things I checked, it only started with this update. I downloaded the beta early on, and it started then, tried the first beta update, still no joy, so I returned to update 7, smooth as silk. I hoped the final update would fix it but no such luck, however I switched to DX12, and it fixed the problem. Still no idea what could have caused it, so it looks like I'll be an early tester for DX12.

This is why I always restart my PC after updates before flying. The SU/WU patches are changing and communicating with various components of your hardware and config files. I like to restart so everything is rebooted/reloaded hardware driver wise.

Not using the cache, DX12 has fixed the problem.

I think DX12 might give you other headaches though. I have never even tried it but I don’t think it is very stable based on others experiences here on Avsim.

There might be a config file that can be deleted so the sim can recreate it. Others will have to chime in on that thought process tho.

I still think you have an input conflict, not a performance related stutter. DX12 is using a different configuration file and that is why you are not seeing the issue there.

Many thanks for your input, I will review all my peripherals.

Fixed with a reset of Windows 11 and MSFS re-install.

Did you try just putting the settings in MSFS back to default?

That can sometimes iron things out.🙂
