Why on earth would Asobo "downgrade the clouds" - it makes no sense!

There is very likely nothing that de facto prevents MS/A from implementing user controls to allow those w/ greater hardware to access more complex rendering.  Xbox's rendering capability will increase as well with new model releases, and MSFS is purported to be a 10y project.   It will only get better or put another way, this is very likely the worst it will ever look going forward, and oftentimes it's quite good already.  I think we are essentially in the fine tuning stage for cloud depiction, depending on the tools they have to work with.

No need to uninstall GeForce Experience. Just open the program, turn MSFS optimizations off and it won't mess with the game. Otherwise, GeForce Experience is useful for updating drivers, in game overlay and other stuff.

OMG, you're kidding?  There is an MSFS optimizations in GFE?  Can't believe this is the first I've read of this!

They can make adjustments to weather at the server side

I've seen this mentioned before in regards to weather, but is there anywhere this is quoted by MS/Asobo ?

I still see pixelation in clouds with VR.

Only in sunny lighting / few clouds combo though

I don't have an exact quote, but one example is that they said they have made changes to the weather server-side after METARs were implemented (SU7 I believe).
