San Francisco Police: Stop a taxi but ...

Featured Replies

Well, all this debating we did a few days ago about fully autonomous cars and if they will ever be a reality, and they already are a reality.

Somebody needs to tell the police though. 😁

Yep, Saw it on the local news.  They never did say what the "car" did to warrant the stop and the company was not ticketed!

How did the driverless car "know" to stop for the police?  Was someone remotely monitoring the vehicle?

I guess it could be programmed to pull over if a police car appears behind with it lights flashing. Must have been I'd have thought, not enough time for a human controller to taker over.

The headlights are no benefit to the sensors driving that car it can see without them so not needed to drive, but the headlights are a safety issue for pedestrians to see the car is coming if they step off the sidewalk to cross the street, San Francisco is a J-Walk city as is most North American cities, powerwalking J-Walking with their faces in their phones
