Hi Marin,"My Procspeed value is similar to yours (4768 - same CPU)"Interesting. Is your CPU overclocked? Mine is stock.Mike

>TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=1024 //Default=512 <---- not noticed>any obvious changes yet in performance or display. ? whether I>should leave it at 1024 or revert back to the default value.Texture_Max_Load is the config value for the "Global Texture Resolution" Slider. Changing this in the CFG file is no different than changing it in the sim config screens.Values are as follows:64 = Very Low128 = Low256 = Medium512 = High1024 = Very High

Changing this in the CFG file is no different than changing it in the sim config screens.Values are as follows:64 = Very Low128 = Low256 = Medium512 = High1024 = Very High<< This is also the slider which determines how much 'stuff' gets sent to the GPU. With a 256MB adapter & FWIW, it seems advisable to not go beyond 512x textures. ;-) Other than that, an interesting discussion, gentlemen. Thanks for bringing it up, Mike. FYI, Aces threw me into bucket6 & 5070. :-) On an AMD64-X2 4600 + 10%. CnQ is disabled and the OS power scheme is 'Always on'. No CPU fixes or optimizers installed. What strikes me most, some are seeing best perf when frames are locked, others - incl myself - are seeing better perf and smoothness when unlocked. Hmmm... Anyhow, many thanks for your scientific efforts. :-) Kind regards Jaap

Mike my CPU runs also at stock speed.the small difference might be because of other sys specs (eg. mainboard, memory?)Martin

CPU: Ryzen 5800X3D not OC, MB: MSI Tomahawk B450, RAM: 32GB DDR 4 3600, GPU: Geforce 5070 Ti not OC, 2TB SDD, Res: 4K

"Texture_Max_Load is the config value for the "Global Texture Resolution" Slider."Ah yes, of course you are correct. Temporay (I hope) senior moment :(Mike

>>>This is also the slider which determines how much 'stuff' gets sent to the GPU. With a 256MB adapter & FWIW, it seems advisable to not go beyond 512x textures. ;-)This would mean that you could not get high resolution textures in the virtual cockpit... not very good IMHO.

Hi McCrash,"Isn't "Cool 'n' Quiet" for the cpu FAN?'Should affect the CPU."AMD Cool'n'Quiet! Technology allows the system to dynamically and automatically select the CPU speed, Voltage and Power combination that match the instantaneous user perfomance need. These changes can happen as often as 30 times per second.Mike

Hi Kev,Sorry for the delay in responding. Thanks for the explanation - very interesting."By the way, another tip... there are three autogen files... one low, one mid, and one full. Take the low one and copy it over the other two. Makes a world of difference for me as my machine seems to be in the bucket that uses the higher autogen detail. Switching them to always use the low one seems to REALLY help my FPS."That's the first time I've seen that suggestion - sounds intriguing. I might give it a shot and see what happens.Do you still use the TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL andTERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_BUILDINGS_PER_CELL tweaks?Mike
