Rolling cache size after SU3 (downloaded content)
Alright, thannk you. My understanding was that the "other" stuff ist mainly general landscape data that would easily fit into a smaller cache. But I guess as long as I've space left on my SSD, I can keep the bigger setting

Rolling cache size after SU3 (downloaded content)
Hi, I previously had a very generous 128 GB rolling cache defined as reports indicated a better performance (I didn't do comparisons with other sizes tough). Now, after SU3, I downloaded a good portion of sceneries to my SSD and am wondering if should reduze the rolling cache back to, say, 32 GB? Any experience on that yet? Thx

'Max framerate' vs 'frame rate target' options
Hi, SU 3 introoduced the "max framerate" option. While I understand the difference between a target-setting and a max (= capped) setting I'm not sure how they might influence each other or which one should be preferred (if any) or if they should be used in combination. I'm running a 5070 TI in 4K with a G-Sync Monitor with DLSS balanced and FG x2 What are your observations on these options? Thx

Recommended Settings for Geforce 5070Ti (DLSS,...)
Hi, got a 5070 Ti recently and combined it wit an Alienware AW3225QF (4K, OLED) and I'm really impressed! Did some tests and performance seems good, however I'm not sure if the system could do better with different settings. Can someone explain afew of the settings for me? https://imgur.com/a/WehMKqe (sorry, was unable to directly insert the picture) 1. Are those DLSS Settings OK? 2. Why is there still an AMD Fidelity setting to change? 3. Why is Vsync greyed out? 4. NVidia Reflex low latency...? 5. Any other observations? I set my monitor refresh rate to 120 Hz and I did not change any settings within Nvidia driver With GA aircraft I'm quite stable at 60 Hz, with airliners on busy airports it falls down to 30 and below Thanks! PS: other components: Ryzen 7 5800X3d, 32GB DDR4 RAM

Can't chose aircraft for mission
Hi there. I wonder if you heard about this problem yet? I flew my second mission with the Cessna Caravan now (Cargo) and it led me to UK from Denmark. Now I am unable to chose this plane for any other mission, even if I transfer it to an airport that has a mission available. It only suggests to transfer my other plane from mainland to do this mission. Is this a known bug or am I missing something? Thank you!

Problem list with FS2024 so far
Just found another one: using the teleport window from dev-menu instantly drops my FPS to 5. After I somehow mange to select my new destination frames return to normal.

Henrik Nielsen's Global AI Ship Traffic for MSFS
Is GAIST still needed with MSFS2024? I flew ner Naples and while some models are double, others ore unique so not sure what is expected?

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Development Update - Live
Sorry if this has already been asked but no time to read through the whole thread. Have the Devs mentioned compatibility of FS20 add-ons with FS24? My understanding is that FS24, despite sharing tome basics with 2020, is still very different in many regards (eg. graphics engine) So would be interesting to see how airport addons for example could function in the new environment.

Henrik Nielsen's Global AI Ship Traffic for MSFS
Thanks Henrik! Not only for the marvelous job on the add on but also on your time answering my and many other questions

Henrik Nielsen's Global AI Ship Traffic for MSFS
Thanks for explaining! As for rivers I asked myself - would there be major issues with the 'solid' bridges that the AI can't render correctly (so would any ships then be caught by these)?

Henrik Nielsen's Global AI Ship Traffic for MSFS
So what is the status now for lakes (and rivers)? Has the SDK issue been resolved by Asobo preventing inland ships (or) do you need to do each and every one of those sceneries seperatly? Thx

Henrik Nielsen's Global AI Ship Traffic for MSFS
Sorry if this has already been answered but is there already a planned release date? Thanks!

Prepar3d V3 Release date Wednesday 30th September
That is basically true of course. However LM is a different situation in my view as their product is clearly designed for customers other than the 'casual gamer'. And those will (have to) pay anyway. I don't think that we (the gaming comunity - sorry the academic community ) is adding much volume moneywise to this product. But I don't know any figures so I may be wrong. I just stated that the excess value for me is not present to justify the investment (let alone the amount of time I have left nowadays to use the sim). Of course everyone shpuld decide for themselves.

Prepar3d V3 Release date Wednesday 30th September
No reason to upgrade fro me. This is a bug-fix release they call 3.0 and charge you for it. Only reason I might consider it is Oculus Rift. But by the time I own that baby we'll probably see v4.0 (btw, doesn't it already work with 2.5?)

P3D + FTX Global + ASN -> (which) REX needed?
Thank you! So, I'll take a closer look into texture direct. Although I must say that I find the stock clouds in P3D quite appealing! Do the REX textures change performance in one or the other way?

P3D + FTX Global + ASN -> (which) REX needed?
Hi! Had to install P3D from scratch because my hard drive suddenly died. I used the opportunity to get FTX Global. Had ASN already. The question is: do I still need REX? OK, 'need' is very relative but in your opinion - does it make sense? And if so - which of the products is the right one? There is REX, REX essential plus, REX essential Plus with overdrive, Rex 4 texture direct... As I understand, the overdrive feature means HD textures - but (how) do they impact performance? Also there'S a weather engine - but I already have ASN. I'm a little confused right now... Can you enlighten me? Thank you!

Any way to force P3D to reset flight to the choosen one?
Thanks Johnman, noticed this feature, however I don't fly regular routes. too much on the world to discover!

Any way to force P3D to reset flight to the choosen one?
Thanks. I doubt it is a bug, has been like this from the beginning if I'm not mistaken @rparson: thanks, will give it a try!

First observations with GTX 970 - puzzled
chatman replied to chatman's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcYes Adam, you're absolutely right - Z68 board I didn't even know that there is a 3.0 already But a quick search on the net confirmed your assumption - they don't differ too much in performance. Thanks !

First observations with GTX 970 - puzzled
chatman replied to chatman's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcHere are 2 screenshots of my systems workload: Green line is Core 1 of my CPU and is the only one always occupied And this is a screen of the GPU utilisation: For this test I used the same scenario (New York) all sliders maxed out (except shadows at medium) Question is: which settings will make use of the unused GPU capacities without lowering performance? So for example how much AA and Anisotropic filtering can the card handle? How about texzure size (actally using 1024 - would 2048 or 4096 be possible without reducing frames?

Any way to force P3D to reset flight to the choosen one?
Can I force P3D to reset the flight (eg. after an aircraft crash) to the one I chose at the start screen? Atm it always resets to the F35/Langley AFB scenario. Thanks!

First observations with GTX 970 - puzzled
chatman replied to chatman's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcDon't get me wrong, the card is fabulous! I switched from a GTX 570 and according benchmarks the new card is about 3 times faster. I just though I would benefit a little more in low frame situations. On the other hand I maxed out almost all sliders. So turning them down a little when flying in dense environments should ease matters
