There is a whql 158.27 set which I have yet to try. My memory is overclocked to 214Mhz, with all default timings, 2T. I'll do some more testing tonight and see what happens as I will have some time for that.
May 25, 200719 yr "then reinstalled and applied SP1 before even launching the game for the first time."That is part of the problem. You need to run FSX first, in order to create some .cfg files, and THEN install SP1, then run FSX-SP1.Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
May 25, 200719 yr >That is part of the problem. You need to run FSX first, in>order to create some .cfg files, and THEN install SP1, then>run FSX-SP1.I can try that again, but thats how I did it the first time. After I saw the blurrys I removed everything and did it the way mentioned above.

Why is it not mentioned in the readme, on the blogs etc?! I have no most of the problems I've read about, but now this makes me thinking...
May 25, 200719 yr >Just to note... >It does not sound as if you are getting blurries but you are>getting>less of a distant clear view due to AF (anisotropic>filtering). What MIPS setting did/do you use in FS9? The default or a few notches higher? Never played with it after I saw more shimmering.Thanks,Dirk.
May 25, 200719 yr Author The thing is, although my video card lacks, I also have that system, and see the blurries on the move....with post SP1...So what's up?Also, why the heck is my unlimited FPS so much larger than locked? Another question, why do my FPS jump up and down even when locked. If I lock at 21....in a big city, where I'd get 28 at unlimited, why do they go from 15 to 35 going 80kts in a straight line? Here's my blurry pic near KMSP....plenty of framerate to go around here IMHO....yet blurry...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/172396.jpg | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
May 25, 200719 yr Had same issue. After trying all possible tweaks a simple revert to RTM (nothing else) has solved all texture loading issues.JCMK
May 25, 200719 yr The blurries issue I am experiencing has nothing do do with filtering settings. It is a texture loading issue. Period. Revert to RTM with same settings fixes it. So it's a SP1 regression (although I agree SP1 has other benefits).JCMK
May 25, 200719 yr SolarEagle - I finally had a chance to get a better comparison at the co-ordinates you suggested. I think it looks pretty good given my specs .Mark. Mark CYYZ
May 25, 200719 yr Well I'm pleased to report that after installing the April DX update and reisntalling SP1 on my existing FSX intall the issue seen in my screenshot with textures not loading at all has been fixed, although they textures still do not load like they did Pre-Sp1. I for one require perfectly sharp textures like RTM has, but even with the tweaks I have yet too see that with SP1. If I pause the sim and wait a few moments they snap into place, but with RTM they are always crips. I often fly right above the trees so crips texture are a must for me.
May 26, 200719 yr Well after trying every possible tweak known to man I finally gave up and went back to a clean install of FSX.But I wasn't happy there either so I decided to try SP1 again and wouldn't you know it this time it seems fine.I did the install exactly the same both times. Before uninstalling I tried the DX update and the new nvidia XP drivers but still got blurries.Don't know if the new drivers and DX update is the reason it worked after a fresh install or what but all I do know it is soooooo nice to finally get to fly instead of tweak. For any of you with Nvidia 7 series cards and XP check out the following link to the new drivers released last week. For some reason nvidia now has them listed in the archives section and if you go the regular route by choosing your card and OS it still takes you to the old 93.71's.The new drivers may not have helped my blurry problem but my 3DMark06 score jumped 1400 points with the new drivers and so far I haven't seen any problems with them.Anyways here's the link and a screenshot taken with SP1 installed. Thanks to PPSFA for posting the nvidia link earlier.Michaelhttp://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_94.24.html
