May 24, 200719 yr I've posted several times since SP1 came out, thinking I had solved something, and asking for help to make my Flight Sim the Flight Sim I expected and wanted. I was never able to get it just right. Either Blurries (with Jets) or stutters (spot view...sound induced?)were always there.Well, finally, I can say that from help received here on the forum, and trying various tweaks, I am confident that I now have my problem solved. I just flew from KABE to KBOS in the default Airbus, and the scenery was glorious...no BLURRIES, and no STUTTERS (even in Spot View).How..well, from Paul Yorks' thread, I locked in 400 on my Texture Multi-Bandwidth (regardless of what others said), and 0.4 on my Fiber Frame Fraction (even though I have Dual Core). Then, I went to Dell and downloaded the OEM Vista Driver for my X-FI Soundcard (erased the driver from the Creative site). Then, I followed DG's (DAVID) advice on another thread of this forum, and upgraded my Video Drivers (Nvidia) to the 158.18 version.I then crossed my fingers (and toes), and flew the Baron for about 5 miles from my home airport (default setting)to one close by. I've done this over and over as a test, and I always use REAL WEATHER. I then immediately noticed the difference in smoothness and total clarity of scenery (I uses FS Genesis Mesh and Cloud 9 landclass). Then, the real test of flying at over 200 kts in a jet to see if blurries occurred in texture loading.Nope....I took the default Airbus to KBOS from KABE and scenery clarity reigned throughout, and I had ZERO Stutters. My Auto gen is set to Normal and my Scenery Density to Very Dense. I use Traffic and Water at the Mid setting.Obviously, I will continue to try things, but I'm convinced I've finally found my computer's sweet spot with the help of the great simmers on this forum. Thank you again.SP1 is absolutely fantastic now, and I can't wait to try so much more.I am now con
May 24, 200719 yr >SP1 is absolutely fantastic now, and I can't wait to try so>much more.>hehehe, Sorry I'm laughing at you. But once you start trying "so much more" your sweet spot will probably move with it. So maybe you should just enjoy things for a few weeks before installing anything new and 'enjoy the view!' ;-)
May 24, 200719 yr Hi Stan,I have the same video card but I am still using the latest November drivers from nVidia. I am still running XP, and not Vista. I assume the 158.15 drivers are "only" for Vista. Can you recommend other XP drivers for the 7950 card? Thanks so much for your information. That is very helpful. May 24, 200719 yr Hi Howard,Great to hear that you are running stutter free! I'm glad that my SP1 post (along with other's advice that you found here) were able to aid you in finding the solution that worked for you. It highlights what this forum is all about...helping othersDavid
May 24, 200719 yr I have a 7900 and am using the 94.24 drivers, heres the link..http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_94.24.htmlThese are working great for me
May 24, 200719 yr Thank you VERY much. Howard Jetline Systems: Intel 8th Gen Core i7 8700K (4.8GHz Overclock); GTX 1080 Ti; LG Curved UltraWide 3440x1440 Monitor .

I have a question. I have an AGP 7800 GS card and I have always been confused about something regarding drivers. I have always thought that these are the latest drivers:http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71.htmlbut according the to the link posted above the latest drivers are 94.24? Can someone please clarify which ones I should be using? Thank you.
May 24, 200719 yr When the 94's came out, you could get to them by going through the 'Selections' boxes and chosing your OS, card, etc. They showed up there for only a short time, then it defaulted back to the 93's, I have no idea why. By doing a 'search' for the 94.24 on the Nvidia driver page, it will take you to the new 94's.All I know is that for me, the 94.24 work better than the 93's, and these are listed for the 7 series cards. Bottom line with drivers is, if you are happy with what you use now, leave em alone, if not, try different ones.
May 24, 200719 yr Good grief, having to go through all that with those specs to get it to run right? I might as well forget it.
May 24, 200719 yr Hi Howard,I've been using the Tweaks R Us Extreme-G 160.02 XP 32 Bit drivers on my 7950GX2 for the last week with pretty good results.Bob
May 24, 200719 yr >Good grief, having to go through all that with those specs to>get it to run right? I might as well forget it.No joke, I hit the sweet spot the other day - but my hardware is dated. Perhaps I will just skip an upgrade and use what I have for a couple more years.... :)Danon
May 25, 200719 yr Thanks everyone...I have achieved my sweetspot with my system. Loving it. I don't need Affinity Mask tweak...I think the Nvidia Drivers did the trick with my system. Everything is Crystal clear.I wish you all the best. There is NOTHING wrong with SP1. You just have to find what works best with your system.
May 25, 200719 yr Author >Thanks everyone...I have achieved my sweetspot with my>system. Loving it. I don't need Affinity Mask tweak...Am I right to assume this tweak still works on Core 2/Duo systems even though you've not entered that line?
May 25, 200719 yr It seems to work fine without that line. However, I will try re-inserting that line to see if it gets any better than it is now.
