DLSS coming with SU10, and they're also working with AMD to bring in FSR.

The Scenery Gateway is progressing, ORBX uses it internally when working on generic airports they improve with World Updates.

Premium Deluxe aircraft will be mod moddable, no ETA as they just got permission today

They'll make Premium Deluxe planes modable!  This is great news!

About cloud shading color and the volcanic ash look at times: Seb tried to make it brighter by a bit and that didn't change anything... due to dynamic lighting and light scattering and reflection within cloud internals, they need to do perfect shadow-casting and internal light-scattering in order to get cloud lighting as good as possible when dealing with particle based cloud rendering.. so it's a trade-off in performance vs heavy computation required in perfecting the light reflection. At least that's what I got from what Seb said, sounds to me like it's all about the light and rendering which causes the volcanic ash look, especially at low sun positions.

Quite honestly they should just let Seb always answer questions instead of Martial lol, who didn't do a great job of answering this question before he passed it on to Seb to further explain.

Seasons are complicated. Changing trees/plants is easy, but making the ground imagery match the season is hard. One example was not every place in the world looks identical in every season.

Edited by Tuskin38

About seasons and status: just changing shade/colors is not going to cut it due to satellite imagery... changing trees' colors is simple, but the longer term issues are satellite data and imagery, ice/snow, etc. They are looking at datasets and biomes in details to implement seasons properly, but that's going to take time. Not sure if they'll at least do tree colors' changing earlier rather than full seasons implementation.

About turbulance: updrafts and downdrafts are based on ground temperature and then consequent impact on air temp.. now they are calculated correctly in SU9.  Less turbulance in mornings or eves, or winter, or over water.. lot of turbulance mid-afternoon, etc. So climate overall is more realistic now (note that world airflow visualizations are coming in SU10). They are considering options for the user to turn off or control level of turbulance overriding this climate-based turbulance behaviour.

That's what it sounded like?.. they explicitly said the premium deluxe planes will be made moddable now that discussions with certain aircraft manufacturers finished successfully.

They didn't specify, but I'm not sure what else it would mean.

They weren't very specific.  They did mention some of the manufacturers had some concerns about users wanting to do this but in the end those manufacturers were okay with it.  We can only hope - I'd love to see a Baron from you!!

Wonder if it will just be config files that will be moddable or if people will have access to 3D model files as well (my guess is just the config, but we'll see)
