April 29, 20224 yr Okay, I just landed with the FBW A320N at Brussels (Aerosoft) from Bristol (Pilot's). Everything worked very well with SU9. I was expecting worse from everything I read here recently. I did move my LOD settings back to 100 and that seemed to cure any FPS or smoothness issues, for me at least. However, after i parked at the gate, I took the drone to look inside the terminal and was amazed to discover moving walkways inside the terminal. Wow, that flipped me out! April 29, 20224 yr Both of these airports look amazing, but modelling the inside of airports must have a considerable impact on the performance of the sim. Surely all of that time and data would be better modelling that which is visible from aircraft. I kept playing with my settings at airports with and with out interiors and I didn't notice any change. It seems to me that the LOD settings take a bigger bite out of performance, and that is outside. Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
April 29, 20224 yr Perhaps an eventual evolution of the sim will be a passenger mode where you can spawn as a passenger outside the terminal, walk inside (either 3rd person or maybe even VR), check in, queue for an hour at security (strip search not included!!!), sit, bored stiff, at an overpriced cafe, cursing the slow internet and then endure the 2 hour delay to your flight before finally boarding and being able to ask to change seats because the kids next to you are screaming their heads off! At the other end, you an stand, twiddling your thumbs, as you wait to see if your luggage actually got to join you on the flight...😁 OS: Win11 Home; Mobo: Asus TUF Gaming Z690-Plus WiFi D4; CPU: Intel i5-12400 (Alder Lake) 4.4 GHzRAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 64Gb (4x16GB) 3600 MHz; GPU: MSI Radeon RX 5700XT [8GB] SSD: Corsair Force MP510 (for OS); 2x 1TB & 1x 2TB Sabrent Rocket Nvme PCIe 4.0 (one for sim, two for addons)HDD: Seagate 3TB (Data); Seagate 1TB (Programs), ASUS TUF Gaming VG32VQ1B Curved 31.5" monitor, 1440p, 38Mbs ethernet Fulcrum One Yoke, Honeycomb Bravo throttle, Thrustmaster Airbus TCA sidestick & throttle, Logitech Pro pedals, Xbox wireless gamepad (1st gen)

Some people like it, clearly enough people for the top developers in the business to add terminal interiors, people and walkways etc and the majority of add on airports that are optimised well have little offset on performance. If some people still pushing that potato pc to its limits and expecting amazing performance with high detail add on airports then the future of this hobby is probably not about you. April 29, 20224 yr It is shocking coming from P3D 4.5x at just how much detail this sim gets away with and doesn't choke beyond belief. I remember flying past a few wind turbines and having P3D choke terribly. This gives me hope they can do more w/ clouds than currently is the case, though I'm starting to wonder if it can be done w/ their rendering software. SU9's clouds seem to have actually come down in density so are in some sense lower resolution still which intuitively seemed like the wrong direction to be going w/ cloud depiction. 16 hours ago, Midnight Music said: I was expecting worse from everything I read here recently. It's so true, which is why I post polls to try to separate signal from noise--not saying 17% having trouble is noise, but just to put it in full context because as you say it's easy to expect the worse reading the threads of tales of woe that are present after most all updates.
