April 29, 20224 yr I just upgraded my CPU and decided to check out it will perform in P3D. I have an RTX 3080Ti as a GPU. I loaded the PMDG 777 , ActiveSky and my normal addons. I am getting upward of 95 fps while sitting at the gate with the engine running. that's at 3440x1440p resolution. I don't remember getting fps anywhere close to that when I had my 3800x. It's pretty outstanding performance. https://fsprocedures.com Your home for all flight simulator related checklist.

April 29, 20224 yr Also have a 5800x3d and since I use the affinity mask : first core free and only physical ones I have really good performance. Better than my 5950x C. W. ,Ryzen 9 5950X @H2O , 32 GB RAM DDR4 3600 Mhz CL15 , Corsair MP600 Pro Watercooled 2 TB for P3D, Samsung SSD980 1 TB for Addons and Crucial MMX500, Red Devil Ultimate 6900 XT
April 29, 20224 yr Understand 5800x3D is great with MSFS & VR. I may have to switch. LOL Good news. High end with 5090, VR, 2020 & 2024.
April 30, 20224 yr No is good with p3d 🙂 at least for ma combination C. W. ,Ryzen 9 5950X @H2O , 32 GB RAM DDR4 3600 Mhz CL15 , Corsair MP600 Pro Watercooled 2 TB for P3D, Samsung SSD980 1 TB for Addons and Crucial MMX500, Red Devil Ultimate 6900 XT
May 3, 20224 yr I have a much more down-market AMD chip in the form of the 5600x but I have had very good performance with it. On my old PC the CPU was very much the bottleneck whereas nowadays I'm limited by my GPU (while I wait for MSRPs to go down some more!). The new Ryzen CPUs seem to play very well with P3D.
