Black textures on roofs of buildings?

Featured Replies

So in true sim fashion "all of sudden" I have this issue.  If I fly closer to the buildings the correct texture appears which is really odd but this is what I see at altitude.  I'm just North of Manchester here near Horwich.  Oddly I turn the spitfire for a run in Australia yesterday and didn't see this issue.  I am running the ORBX GB Central addon but never had this before.

Any ideas?

I had the similar issue in NYC last night except blocks of building roofs were pink…

Sim issue then?

My building setting was medium (always has been) but changing this to High or Ultra fixes the issue - defo must be something related to SU9.  Not seen this before.  Thing is I don't want to run buildings on High due to my ageing processor!

Hi guys

I'm reopening this one because my previous claim of setting buildings to HIGH doesn't work.  I'm still seeing this but mainly in the UK only?  I've tried all sorts of settings, usual culprits like LOD, texture settings and nothing helps.

Has anyone else suffered this issue?

Thanks

@sidfadc  Where was that taken?  I will give it a try with the same aircraft and livery even.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Honestly can't remember but next time I see it I will screenshot.  I'm convinced (rightly or wrongly) its something to do with ORBX GB Central which I have installed, however I've uninstalled that and same issue.  I see it mainly around England (rather than the UK).  I fly out of Manchester, Leeds, London area a lot.

For the record, Orbx GB Central and Orbx GB North for MSFS are both simply a large collection of points of interest, ie scenery objects.
As such they cannot possibly cause a problem such as this.

Also for the record, I too see pink/ magenta scenery objects from time to time.
In some cases, they fill in with textures when approached and in others, they remain pink.
I put this down to one or more of the constant and often unannounced changes made to the simulator, usually by a simulator update.

Yea I’ve ruled out ORBX being an issue - but as my screenshot shows I’m seeing black textures not pink or magenta.

I'd try to clean up things such as the rolling cache and the shader cache... the next step would be a clean install of the drivers after DDU wipe out.

Strange... I've had this exact issue with Orbx scenery in P3D...
