When: Milviz Stage 2 PC-6 Porter?

Featured Replies

I bought their Porter back last September. They said stage 2 would be free to previous owners when released. Stage 2 adds optional floats, optional tundra tires, optional steam gauges without glass screens. Anybody know if Milviz has given a clue when it will be released?

We're still shooting for a Q2 release; we'll be starting to show it off in the coming weeks if all goes to plan.

Great! I think for anyone buying the Porter now, they will save money because phase 2 will be free to them. But if they wait, then a higher price.

A scenic strip with a 15 degree slope for the Porter or Kodiak is LFIP, Balestas,  a.k.a. airport 007. It changed its name to 007 because a James Bond film crew buried the power cables and otherwise tidied it up to make the Pyrenees airstrip location more scenic. (Tomorrow Never Dies).

So what happened to the plan?

Strictly speaking Q2 doesn't end till 30th June but either way this project doesn't exactly feel like Milviz have considered it a priority

Yea I get that, but I was referring to:

Not a word since then, feels like its been repeatedly shoved aside as its unlikely to produce new revenue, but the fact is many like myself bought it with the understanding that stage 2 would be delivered in the near future. If you use the promise of certain extra features to sell something then not delivering on that promise in a reasonable time frame is a far from endearing quality.

Unfortunately, as pretty much our whole model/paint team is in the Ukraine, we had no choice but to push it again till mid/end of Q3.  We do what we can with what we have.

Why on earth didnt you mention this months ago?.

That's an interesting question.

Also will this be affecting other planes which will now be delayed ?

Yes, I think this is the only reasonable response to being told that a company's workforce is in the middle of a warzone.

None of that silly human compassion for me, I want my fake plane updated!

Maybe now move the "team" that did the 310 to the Porter.

That explains the delay to the work but unless the team responsible for communicating with customers are also in a warzone it doesn't answer questions about why, say, this isn't mentioned anywhere on the Milviz website

A great deal of the texturing, modelling legwork that goes into sims of all sorts is done by teams based in the Ukraine or the Russian Federation.

In flightsims of every genre these guys have a big part to play.

At the moment the other Porter under development is on hold whilst the entire team fight for their country and their lives....
