Fenix A320 always require an internet connection?

Featured Replies

I'm curious to whether or not this is true. Would hate to not be able to load up due to internet being down. Does anyone know what happens if you load up the plane without an internet connection? I really hope it doesn't require a constantly active internet connection to run.

No, not at all.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

You cannot start up MSFS with the Internet down.. so it would not matter..

Actually, it is possible, at least with the MS Store version, but it is a rather involved process to set it up for the first time: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/games-apps/game-setup-and-play/play-games-offline-on-windows-10-using-offline-mode

Have you tried this?  I followed their instructions and it did not work.. 😉

Yes, I have, and even though it wasn't a straightforward process, eventually it worked. I don't remember the details much, but I think I had to set the offline permissions both in MS Store App and the Xbox App, restart PC, open both of them apps while still online and then start MSFS while still online. The next MSFS start was possible offline with no internet connection.

It didn't work here either, and according to Microsoft it can only be done three times. So, useless...

This needs clarification. The rules are that you can change your designated offline device three times per year. That means activating it on different PCs (I don't know if it hardware or software bound).
