May 26, 20224 yr Moderator When I was in Europe in either 2019/2020 we were getting €0.95 for $1 and it was great as far as shopping was concerned, especially after you get the VAT refunded at the airport. My wife and I were buying tons of high end jewelry, watches, Chanel (purses/jewelry) for large discounts. Typically when we go over there we’d get an exchange rate for around €0.85 for $1 and still save some money on the VAT refund but not nearly as much as before. We’ve got a trip to St. Maarten coming up on Aug and the French side takes Euros and then we’ll be in Paris, Vienna and Prague for Christmas and New Years, so we’re hoping the dollar against the Euro and Koruna (Czech).
