How do you get this to work? Will it run on an iPad? I've messed with Air Manager before but this was a long time ago.

You popout the CDU window and then put it on the Ipad with the Air Manager CDU overlay and Spacedesk.

If you use MSFS Popout window Manager you only have to fit it once.

I do not own Air Manager and neither have I ever used it.  I see from the Air Manager home page there is a version for Apple/Android tablets.  Do you know if this CDU works with the tablet version?

You say you are running it in Spacedesk, am I right to assume you have the desktop version of Air Manager to run it?

Yes, because if you use Spacedesk, it is bassically a extra monitor of your desktop you just drag the Overlay and Popout CDU there.

Thanks for the video.  I am tempted to buy this but as I have never used it before it would be helpful if you could describe how this system works.  Once Air Manager is purchased, does this CDU just automatically connect with MSFS?

Yes, but you need to do it via Spacedesk, so you have to put in your IP adress etc.

This is very interesting, but as I have never used Air Manager before could you explain why Air Manager is required?  If the CDU window is popped out and placed on the iPad using Spacedesk, what is Air Manager required for? Is it just a graphical overlay?

Air Manager is software with which you can make and download instruments which you can put on other screens. Like the standby instruments in my video.

It is not just a overlay when you press a key on the overlay it needs to send a message to the Fenix that that key is pressed. So you need to write a code etc. That is what the guys of Simstrumentation did for us, make a Cdu overlay which connects to the Sim.

Ah OK.  I have never popped out an instrument before so assumed a cdu pop out window would still have the buttons attached so would just work.

So we need 3 software's - one being payware - correct ? also there is two versions of air manager is the cheaper version good enough ? thanks

Github - Spacedesk & air manager - all 3 of these are needed or only 2 combinations ?

I have worked out a panel needs to be created, so I used the blank default.  I imported the CDU instrument, but I can't work out how to get it on the panel!  When I click 'add instrument', I don't see the CDU in the list.

Why not just use the built in one?

Set your phone or tablet up on the same network as your MSFS computer. Hit the home button on the EFB in the airplane, and click Use External Device. Follow the directions. Boom! Done. Free.
