If you watch the Video he talks about it. Than you wont need to ask and you will get the info first hand.

Sounds like another stupid question? They must be drinking beer

Those weather / atmosphere changes look really exciting. Any news on what data sources XP12 will use over and above what was already used for XP11 (apologies if it’s already there)?

From what I recall he said XP12 will be using NOAA global data + METAR airport data (both of which are already used in XP11 as far as I know), but I think the biggest change/improvement is how these sources are used in depicting the new weather system.

The local METAR data is fused with the global NOAA data so to have continuous weather throughout space, and also past and future NOAA forecast data are interpolated in time, so that you won't have sudden weather changes, but smooth variations as in real life. That sounds very interesting, curious to see what the final result will be.

Usually. You are old enough to be wise but the pattern of silly questions says otherwise. You probably just like fishing and meant to say trolling for fish,

At what age does one become wise? I would not presume wisdom but I thank you for yours.  Yet I will admit that age seems to allow me to accept without anger that people disagree over, well, nearly everything.😀

I thought the XP11 flight model was perfect? At least so I had been led to believe. So what's new? Is this new one perfect? I've a feeling perfection is not possible in any sim so does it matter?

Surely a perfect flight model only exists in reality?

Each new generation of flight sim will attempt to get closer to reality using the generation of hardware/software available at the time - XP12 will be able to utilize more data using faster hardware to achieve a jump forward in flight model fidelity.

I read the weather section and I'm excited.  You all know that I'm using MSFS at the moment, but you might not know I used XP11 and P3D at the same time in the past.  I would be ecstatic if the Wx system was of utmost importance in a sim.  It appears like this will be the case in XP12.  Count me in!

I have just seen an XP12 screenshot taken from the ground - it contains cumulus, stratus and cirrus - I'm in!
