Radio Frequencies

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I use a set of Flight Illusion Bendix radios alongside a RSG 750 with the TDS 750 XI...

I am noticing an issue with tuning radio frequencies...basically on some airports I can't as they are using fractions I cannot get...like 121.23...If I put that into the 750 it defaults back to 121.20...

The only way I can do it is to use the in sim ATC which spoils my immersion..

Is this due to the radio frquencies (and thus the radios themselves) changing from 8.33KHz change from 25KHz?

See:  https://aviation.stackexchange.com/questions/73992/what-is-the-purpose-of-using-8-33-khz-instead-of-25-khz-frequency-spacing

Yes, That must be it...

Does that now make all our expensive after market hardware obsolete?

Probably, which is a real bummer, but think of what it must cost aircraft owners to replace their radios...
Hopefully a software fix is possible to create a workaround.

Dave I'm pretty sure you can adjust that in the gtn itself.  Try utilities or settings page.  If not there it might be in the interface (the exe running in the system tray on your desktop)

My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL |
| Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

I would expect that any modern hardware (within the last decade or so) would work with 8.33 khz. It isn't a modern change really..can't remember how long ago, but they have been cramming frequencies in that space for a while now. Ryan is probably correct as usual.

For both the TDS GTNXi and the PMS50 GTN the 8.33KHz setting is under System>Setup>Com/Nav.
