FBW Cabin PA

Featured Replies

Is there any way of customising the PA announcements in the FBW A320?  I find the american accents very irritating and to a non american virtually unintelligible.  The FBW A320 is now a strong competitor for the Fenix A320 but this is one aspect where it falls short in comparison.

Not yet. I believe they said they plan on making voice packs in the future, but they can't be edited by end users because of the way the files are packed for MSFS.

You can turn off the announcements on the EFB...but I think it also turns off the Captain announcements...

The captain announcements aren't too bad but that flight attendant speaks so fast I think any non americans on board would completely miss the safety briefing.  However on the other hand I do prefer the engine start and in flight cabin sounds of the FBW A320  not quite as good as the FSlabs A320 sounds but much better than the Fenix A320.

Can you help me here Bruce, but the Fenix has no announcements of any type, that I know of at least, so I am not sure how FBW falls short.  Am I missing something?

Hey Bruce,

I completely feel you and had the same issue with the voice. Here's what I did:
First, I turned off any cabin and flight deck announcements via the FBW in-game tablet. You can do this in the settings tab in the virtual tablet.

After that, I downloaded "LukeAirTool" (LukeAirTool - Passenger Sim & Pushback Assist & METAR & Charts and more » Microsoft Flight Simulator) and installed it. It is a standalone app which lets you either control announcements by yourself or connects to your flight via FSUIPC and automatically plays the matching announcement. It works with every plane, too, is completely free of charge and contains more than 15 or so airline announcements you can chose from.

I hope this helps you,

lirot

Edit: ... and the tool also lets you create your custom PAs which then also can be automatically played by the app - which is just awesome.

That's probably where it falls short in his opinion, in the very absence of those things.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

I think this is what confuses me.  He is stating that compared to Fenix, the FBW falls short on announcements and accents.  How can FBW fall short when it actually has this (even though he does not specifically enjoy them), but Fenix does not even have them.  In this regard, I would see the Fenix product as the one 'falling short'.  Anyways, no big deal, just curious.

Ah yes you‘re right, I read it the other way around, which would make sense. This doesn‘t, however, as you say.

OK I was confused it has been a little while since I have flown the Fenix - the comparison, on reflection, was with the FSlabs A320 for P3D.  But considering what you need to pay for the FSlabs stuff any comparison is I concede is unfair.
