ambitiouspilots-toolbar-pushback has no sound

Featured Replies

I have just downloaded this excellent addon and tried it.

Everything works as expected but I get no sounds - ie the 'verbals' like "release handbrake" as I hear in all the video tutorials I have watched.

I would contact the author however I can't find an email address.

None of the video tutorials I watched mentioned anything about any special setup required for sound.

I am assuming that the sounds are 'controlled' by one or more sound settings but I seem to have all mine set ON. I can hear every other sound (other than those for the pushback) both inside the cockpit and outside.

Any ideas?

I have it. Through experimenting I find that audio seems to be affected by the type of aircraft and probably more importantly by the type of tug used. I was using the DHC-6 Twin Otter (wheels) at a small airport (but with atc) and the pushback tug is a very small device where the operator stands on it. I later tried using the A320 at a large airport where the pushback tug is the large type with the operator in a cabin.

I wonder if there is no communication between the pilot and tug operator of those small tugs in real life?

I only fly GA aircraft. The CJ4 being the largest. When I get a tug, it is always the small one and I have never had sound. You may have hit on the problem. However, you would think that the developer would know that was the problem and would confirm it.

Toolbar pushback still isn't compatible with Fenix A320. This add-on, unfortunately, hasn't been updated since month.

I use it all the time with the Fenix, no problems.

When I fire up Fenix I get a message that toolbar pushback is not compatible with Fenix. I listened and used built-in pushback instead. Thanks for informing me that indeed toolbar pushback does work, I will use it again with my next flights, as I feel that TP is far better than the built-in pushback. Thanks Bob.

Some people have had problems with the TBPB, so they put that warning up. I don't use the option where the tug lifts the nose wheel, ( which you can disable)  and have no problems. Use it on every flight. Try it and see if it works. I purchased the FS2 Crew pushback, and I hated it and went back to the TBPB

OK, will stay away from that option and see if TBPB will work fine for me as well.

Later: Gave it two tries and indeed it works like a charm. Thanks again Bob.

What about the memory leak folks were reporting? Don't you have it? I disabled mine because of that, maybe have to try again to check if that memory leak is true.

My longest  flight is typically less than 1 1/2 hours, so memory leaks haven't been a problem at all.
