Question for the real world pilots

Featured Replies

In an everlasting search for the closest to the real world experience, I'd appreciate if you could tell me your observations on what's the most realistic setting under,:

-Accessibility-main colour-default/protanopia/deuteranopia/tritanopia?????

-Sound-music selection- colour 1 or 2????

I've never heard someone asking this question and unless we answer them all, we'll never be sure where did we stuck and our quest might be brought in jeopardy!

Protanopia= Color blindness to Red.

Deuteranopia= Color blindness to Green

Tritanopia= Color blindness to Blue/Yellow- cannot distinguish between the two.

The Terms are greek- pretty much all medical terms are.

If you are flying classic aircraft from the twenties you need to fly with a black and white screen as colour was not invented back then and people only saw things in black and white or shades of sepia.

A pilot friend of mine who works for a regional carrier once told me that deuteranopia was the closest to what he sees in the real world. He also told me that for music, color 1 and 2 can both be realistic depending on what part of the country you are flying in - so in this case, it is really your choice.

Hope this helps.

I can't even imagine what it was like... wild stuff.

My Hovercraft is full of Eels

The steward would announce through his megaphone: "The hatches are now battened down!" The passengers' prayer book prompted the orthodox reply: "Bat 'em down again"!
