July 22, 20223 yr Hi Guys, Quick question if i may.I am terrible at manual landings,if fact im a disaster,i was wondering if there is anyway to save an approach at say 10 miles out,in the smaller busses or the the PMDG 737 NGXu,so the plane will load in at the saved state and not the default so i can practice the landings over and over, I dont own the paid version of FSUIPC just the free version. Is there anyway to do it just within P3Dv5.3. With Thanks Gary Jones.
July 22, 20223 yr @Benbo, yes. Just fly the aircraft to the point you would like to begin and press P for pause. Then use Scenario/Save on the menu. This allows you to save that scenario. When you want to repeat it, simply use Scenario/Load. dv Win 10 Pro || i7-8700K || 32GB || ASUS Z370-P MB || NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11Gb || 2 960 PRO 1TB, 840 EVO My Files in the AVSIM Library
July 22, 20223 yr Author Thanks Dave, will that load the aircraft in the saved approach state and not the cold and dark i have as the default states. Gary.
July 22, 20223 yr It will depend on the add-on. Saving the aircraft state, including systems config and FMC programming, is something the panel has to be explicitly programmed to do--it's not a default P3D behavior as much of the needed info is contained in custom panel data structures that has to be written out and then later loaded back into the panel data structures by the panel code. The PMDG birds are pretty good when it comes to saving/restoring the aircraft systems state together with the P3D saved flight scenario. July 22, 20223 yr Author Thanks for that Bob,so just to be clear i need to save the panel state of the aircraft on approach then save it in P3D,is that correct. Gary

IIRC, with the PMDG birds, using the standard P3D scenario save control also triggers the PMDG panel to concurrently save its state. It may vary somewhat, especially with the older add-ons, so read the docs for specifics. July 22, 20223 yr Author Seems its not as straight forward as i had hope, just save the flight in P3D,does the paid version of FSUIPC make it any easier. Gary.

Doesn't help here. If paid FSUIPC actually does this, somebody please provide a step-by-step checklist as to how to!!!! See page 60-61 of the PMDG NGXu Introduction manual for an explanation of how that particular add-on does panel and/or situation saves. What's not straight forward about it? I generally use the default situation save key (semicolon)...and when running Radar Contact it also saves the rc4 file so you can resume the flight's ATC state as well as the panel state and situation. July 23, 20223 yr @Benbo, As Bob pointed out, it's just that simple. You can use the menu way, Scenerio/Save, or simply press the ; key. P3D will save the situation or scenario and the PMDG NGXu will automatically save its panel state. When you're ready to resume, load the scenario. It may take a couple of seconds for the NGXu to load the state, but it works. It doesn't work like this with all add-on aircrafts. This is why Bob suggested checking the add-on documentation first. dv Win 10 Pro || i7-8700K || 32GB || ASUS Z370-P MB || NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11Gb || 2 960 PRO 1TB, 840 EVO My Files in the AVSIM Library
