Fenix A320 Ground Services

I really like the way PMDG has its own ground services coming with the aircraft and can be operated via FMS (I hope we will be able to operate them through EFB when it's released). I also have my custom skins for the PMDG ground equipments. I don't need GSX for PMDG.

If Fenix also had its own ground services that could be operated via EFB, that would be perfect.

I ask the opposite 😂 How to to to set correctly the Fenix for using GSX 😉

I don't and probably wont use GSX so doing it similar to PMDG's implementation would be my preference.

I've understood, and it's a good choice.

But I should like to go ahead with GSX..

It works really well without too much help.

Ignore the Fenix Mass and balance page until the very end. Call for boarding, then catering, then refueling. When the fuel truck arrives, GSX will tell you to input the fuel. Go to the MCDU menu, and select "Config", then "Fuel", and input the "Maximum planned" number from the Simbrief OFP. After you have input the fuel, and GSX starts filling the tanks, go to mass and balance and do an instant load. Done.

Three things to remember.

  1. Make sure you have less fuel in the airplane than the max planned number on the OFP  so the fuel truck can add the missing quantity. Otherwise, it will just pull up to the plane and then leave right away without doing anything.
  2. Don't use the FOB (Fuel on board) number from the OFP as that is thew amount you should have at the runway for takeoff. Max planned on the OFP includes the extra fuel (~500 lbs) required to taxi out, so the FOB number will be what you have when you actually get to the runway.
  3. Be sure to turn off the Fenix option to automatically operate the jetway. If you don't, it will disconnect the jetway and GSX won't know about it, so you'll get floating pax where there should be a jetway for them to walk through.

It's both issues actually:

- You still should configure the Fenix to not operate the jetway,  because until there's a proper integration between the two, they both try to operate the jetway without coordinating with each other, likely resulting in one connecting and the other disconnecting

- Even if you fix the above problem, it won't prevent the LOD visual bug to happen. That is not really a "disconnection", the jetway is still connected as far as the simulator is concerned, it's just snapping out of the animated (docked) position when switching LODs. That's something only Asobo can fix.
