There will certainly be a lot of bugs initially, so forecast at least several weeks for showstoppers like this, and then a few months for the other main bugs to be resolved.

X-Plane historically has always done very "early" releases compared to other similar products, so keep that in mind. What you'll see one year from now will be very different from what you have now. It has always been that way for the previous versions.

Initial reaction from me:-

Super smooth, and I mean ZERO stuttering. Zero! The usual feeling of flying an actual aircraft with XP. Some really nice new effects, and super happy to have XP night lighting back!

TrackIR is all over the place! It needs some serious tuning....!

The ground textures, and smoothness of the roads? XP11..... You will need ortho, good job I have a 1GB line now! Not sure how this will work with the new water effects and also the seasons?

Anyways that is my super quick first impressions. All in all, very positive. With lots of work throughout the beta to go I am sure...it will be interesting to see how people with lower end hardwware fare. 

Looks like you can't just copy and paste controller profiles over from 11 - the commands seem to be present but attached to the wrong devices - may be possible to fix with manual editting ?

Yeah but seasons don’t, I’ve just read over at the org, and ortho needs recompiled with a new updated ortho file now in order to be compatible with the new bathymetry water data?

Read the same thing - they mentioned a new version of Ortho4XP which will do it but I'm not seeing it yet ?

Looks like there's a new AP Module in some of the default aircraft - the TruTrak Sorcerer.

Not heard of the company or the AP before but it looks like they bought up by BendixKing/Honeywell in 2019 and Sorcerer forms the basis of their AeroCruze range of APs.

But the Sorcerer manual is still available from the BK website if you want to check out the real thing.
