Depends on what your use case is and what software you have to control it. Hardware wise they are all well made. If you want the versatility and graphical fidelitly, get a StreamDeck (XL). If you want rotary encoders, get an X-Touch. If you want to have both in one package and you can live with the limitations, get a LoupeDeck. In all cases you need additional software to go with them. From my point of view the deciding factor is for which of these devices you can get more ready-made profiles, preferably for free, and what those profiles can do. And I think that the StreamDeck wins here (but when looking at the profiles note that they were made for different software solutions. Those made for SPAD only work with SPAD - same for FlightTracker and AAO). Ultimately it is a matter of need and a matter of taste. If I absolutely have to recommend something, get a StreamDeck and the XT... And then there is VR... a talented simmer is working on a gauge that represents the X-Touch graphically, so you can see what you are touching. Very intriguing project IMHO.X-Touch Mini Gauge for use with AAO (Axis and Ohs) » Microsoft Flight Simulator Edited September 20, 20223 yr by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI
September 20, 20223 yr Following your recommendations I have just purchased StreamDeck XL. Moreover your detailed explanations and your elegant way of talking about competing products without discrediting them make me interested in your software. If you are only planning to use AAO with the StreamDeck, you shouldn't need a tutorial. But please make sure to run the DEMO version of AAO first! Also maybe check out FlightTracker, that StreamDeck plugin doesn't require any middleware. LORBY-SI
September 20, 20223 yr Author It's long, but he shows how to set up one profile from flightsim.to (for the A320 fly by wire I think). Since he covers each step, you just pause the video and follow along. If you can load in that one profile, you could do all of the readymade profiles, the same way. On the front page of Steamdeck you want to have an index to jump to all the profiles by name. But you can make that anytime later on down the road and then put it as your front page. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. September 20, 20223 yr I very appreciate, thank you. Actually, this gentleman has some clear and simple videos about StreamDesk and AAO: They should help my old brain get started!😉 - PC Hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D // Asus ROG Crosshair X870E HERO // 2x32Gb Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 // ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition // 4Tb Corsair NVMe M.2 MP600 // Corsair 1600W PSU Samsung Odyssey Arc 55" curved 165 Hz monitor. - Simulator Hardware: VIRPIL Constellation Alpha Prime + VIRPIL VPC Universal Control Panel - #3 + MOZA AY210 Force Feedback Yoke + WINWING URSA MINOR 32 Throttle & PAC Metal + WINWING SKYWALKER Metal Rudder Pedals + WINWING Airbus FCU & EFIS + WINWING Boeing 3N PAP + WINWING MCDU-32 + WINWING PFP-4 + WINWING PFP 3-N + WINWING PFP-7.
August 6, 20232 yr Dear friends, for some days I've been updating myself on different products and comparisons between Loupedeck and StreamDeck. What I read in this post is all right, just one thing was not said. The Loupedeck has the possibility to work simply by replicating the standard short-cuts or those configured in the Device Configuration section of FS2020, including the adjustment of the knobs. So it is very easy and fast to configure it in this very simple way. In SimHanger Flight, find Mark's tutorial. Ciao
